Round 4 FORCE v REBELS Friday 12 March HBF Park | 5.45pm DEAR PLAYERS, MEMBERS AND FANS, Congratulations to the Force players, head coach Tim Sampson and his staff for the first win back in Super Rugby since 15 July 2017. The performance against the Waratahs last Friday was a well-deserved victory for the fans of this club! I am sure you are as thrilled as I am to have chalked our first win for the season. This week we welcome Melbourne Rebels head coach David Wessels and the former Force players home to WA. I welcome the Sea of Blue, our loyal fans and members, back to HBF Park to support the team against the Rebels – please ensure our opponents know they are in the opposition territory. Never underestimate the power of the home supporters. Tonight’s game is a big occasion for the Western Force as we acknowledge First Nations peoples who have lived on this continent for over 60,000 years; their traditions, customs and lore live on today. We are proud that inclusion is an integral part of rugby and by hosting the first game of the inaugural Super Rugby AU First Nations Round, we are celebrating their contribution to rugby and society. We recognise that reconciliation is a journey we are on together. I would like to acknowledge renowned Noongar artist Peter John Farmer II for his fantastic bespoke design of the Force jersey for this historic match. There is nothing better than live rugby, so be loud and proud of the Force. Enjoy the game!
