    Capitol Insurrection At Center Of Conservative Movement: At Least 43 Governors, Senators And Members Of Congress Have Ties To Groups That Planned January 6th Rally And Riots. SUMMARY: On January 6, 2021, a rally in support of overturning the results of the 2020 presidential election “turned deadly” when thousands of people stormed the U.S. Capitol at Donald Trump’s urging. Even Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who rarely broke with Trump, has explicitly said, “the mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the President and other powerful people.” These “other powerful people” include a vast array of conservative officials and Trump allies who perpetuated false claims of fraud in the 2020 election after enjoying critical support from the groups that fueled the Capitol riot. In fact, at least 43 current Governors or elected federal office holders have direct ties to the groups that helped plan the January 6th rally, along with at least 15 members of Donald Trump’s former administration. The links that these Trump-allied officials have to these groups are: Turning Point Action, an arm of right-wing Turning Point USA, claimed to send “80+ buses full of patriots” to the rally that led to the Capitol riot, claiming the event would be one of the most “consequential” in U.S. history. • The group spent over $1.5 million supporting Trump and his Georgia senate allies who claimed the election was fraudulent and supported efforts to overturn it. • The organization hosted Trump at an event where he claimed Democrats were trying to “rig the election,” which he said would be “the most corrupt election in the history of our country.” • At a Turning Point USA event, Rep.

(“Association”). The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the New York State affiliate of the National Rifle Association of America (“NRA”). We have a variety of bills and resolutions before us this morning. And as usual, they are based on a variety of false hopes and false premises. Laws are for the law abiding. We have said this here before, and it bears repeating. Laws are for the law abiding. Imposing further burdens and restrictions on New York City’s heavily taxed and intensely regulated licensed gun owners, and its few remaining, heavily taxed and intensely regulated licensed dealers of firearms and ammunition, will not reduce crime. As we heard the Mayor’s Criminal Justice Coordinator say in a September 2003 hearing before this Committee, New York City’s licensed gun owners are not the problem.1 For this essential, transcending reason the Association opposes all of the intros and resolutions before us today. Continuity and Change in Hollywood Representations of the Middle East after September 11 th by Sulaiman Arti A Doctoral Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfilment of the Requirements for the Award of Doctor of Philosophy of Loughborough University June 2009 © 2008 S. Arti Abstract This thesis inquires into the factors behind Hollywood's depiction of the Middle East. That depiction is not static, but is modified in response to changes in political events and US government foreign policy. Although the events of 9/11 seemed to justify the traditional negative stereotype of Arabs, the image has been partially and rationally re-interpreted. This was due to the rise in prominence of the ideas of a minority of radical and free-thinking members of the Hollywood cornmunity who embraced a more intellectual approach, which advocated that the popular Western view of the Arab world was unjustified and based on a fallacious fabrication for Western political advantage. The research further shows that these activists did not owe allegiance to the Hollywood-US government propaganda machine. They were able to fracture this traditional alliance and provide the opportunity for the appearance of films of a radical nature, which were critical of US Middle Eastern policy and projected the Arab world in a new light. The study analyzes a selection of films that represent the Middle East in terms of their philosophy and cinematic structure, which enables them to act as vectors to raise public awareness of the issues and to promote reconciliation and co-existence between East and West.

The National ITS Program Plan consists of four documents: an Executive Summary, a Synopsis, and two Volumes.The Executive Summary provides a very brief overview of the goals, objectives, and recommendations presented in the National ITS Program Plan. The Synopsis provides a fifty page encapsulation of the major subject areas within the document, with special emphasis on the area of deployment. Volume I focuses on the issues of goals, compatibility, deployment, and program assessment, and Volume II contains detailed descriptions and plans for each of the twenty-nine user services.
