Funds to help students & families pay for educational expenses. Financial aid funds consist of: Grants Employment Scholarships Loans 1 4 Grants – Free Money that you don’t have to pay back. Pell Grant– Based on financial need from FAFSA. Same at every school. $5920 Max SEOG Grant– Eligible for students with the highest need. Amount varies. $4000 Max Work Study– Student employment paid by federal funds. Answer ‘yes’ on FAFSA and check with Financial Aid Office for procedures. STEPHEN BRADLEY, CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER · DAN GOMES, BOARD CHAIR Health Center Celebrates its Medical School’s 10th Graduating Class On Thursday, May 21st, 4 new doctors from the Wai‘anae campus of the A. T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) graduated in a virtual ceremony along with their fellow classmates. All 4 graduates have chosen to pursue primary care fields. Two of our 4 graduates will remain in Hawai‘i as part of the University of Hawaii’s Family Medicine residency program. WCCHC became part of this exciting new medical education program in 2007 when ATSU-SOMA selected the Health Center as one of only 11 “Hub Sites” located at community health centers across the country. After spending their first year at the Arizona campus, medical students spend their second, third and Final year studying and training with health center doctors and staff while taking care of members of the community who they will hopefully serve again in the future once they complete their residency.     Leilehua High School 2019-2020 Curriculum Catalog 1515 California Ave, Wahiawa, HI 96786 ph: 808.305.3000 www.leilehua.k12.hi.us General Information Leilehua High School, a nationally recognized school of excellence, was founded in 1924 and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is one of the six high schools in the Central Oahu District. It is lo- cated on 31 acres of land in the suburban community of Wahiawa, approximately 25 miles north of the state capital, Honolulu. The Common Core Standards serve as the basis for a comprehensive educational program at Leilehua High School. The State General Learner Outcomes are an integral part of Leilehua’s culture and are demonstrated in daily class- room instruction and assessments. DESCRIPTION The Legislature passed HB1259 SD1 CD1 , which appropriates funds for the Statewide Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget for Fiscal Years ("FY") 2019-2021 . The total appropriation for the upcoming biennium is $769,000,000, a significant increase from the 2018-2019 biennium budget. The Department of Education (DOE) appreciates this vote of confidence from the Hawaii State Legislature (Legislature) and will endeavor to execute the budget efficiently and responsibly. 2. UPDATE This update will reflect the DOE's effort working with the Legislature on identifying and funding the critical projects of the DOE. Starting with the Board of Education (BOE) approved budget, which exhibited the true needs of the DOE, DOE staff frequently met with various Legislators to ensure all parties understood the importance of the. CIP request. These meetings also gave DOE staff the opportunity to update the Legislature on the Future Schools Now initiative. Updates were given regarding the new Job Order Contracting (JOC) procurement process and in-person training was provided to legislators and their staff on the use of the DOE's CIP Project Tracking system. The appropriations support the critical needs identified by the DOE including Title IX compliance, pre-kindergarten classroom conversions, lump sum appropriations which allows some flexibility in executing projects, IT infrastructure, and a significant amount for repair and maintenance projects.
