HOW WILL HE TAKE THE NEWS THAT SUSIE IS REALLY EVA’S DAUGHTER? 4 lnsideSoap Eva’s treatment of Susie evokes suspicion in Peter oyah’s baby lie rips through the Rovers this week, as the guilt of her surrogacy pact with Eva T causes her to finally explode – and tell Peter everything! Since little Susie was born, Toyah has witnessed heartbroken Eva struggling to let go of her daughter, and the agony of that decision has magnified following the suicide of Susie’s father Aidan. The loss that Eva feels is huge, and seeing her so distraught at her ex-fiancé’s funeral is what forces Toyah to accept that she can’t go on living a lie… “The secrets just keep building, and after she realises how devastated Eva is, it all culminates with Toyah deciding to tell Peter the truth,” shares actress Georgia Taylor, who plays her. “It’s like tearing off a plaster, and she knows in that moment that it’s the right thing to do. Toyah doesn’t know what the fallout is going to be, but sadly it is catastrophic, and even worse than she imagined.” “There’s tension as Toyah doesn’t know what Eva will say” In the lead-up to Toyah’s confession, the pressure of her deceit is taking its toll as ructions at the Rovers threaten to reveal her secret. After Peter asks Simon to take Susie out for a stroll, Eva is furious to catch the teen and his pal Tyler smoking near the baby. With that, Eva snatches the buggy from Simon and wheels Susie back to the pub, where Toyah panics that she’s about to blow their agreement. “Eva goes ballistic, as she’s naturally very protective of Susie,” explains Georgia. “Peter defends Simon, so that puts him and Eva at loggerheads, and there’s a moment of tension for Toyah where she doesn’t know what Eva will say next. She manages to dissipate the drama, but the fact that it came so close to spilling out is terrifying for Toyah.” CONTINUED OVER ↘ lnsideSoap 5 INSIDE SCOOP ↘ FROM PREVIOUS PAGE After disgruntled Simon takes the opportunity to stick it to Eva – and blasts her for the way she treated Aidan prior to his death – she is devastated. So when his funeral dawns the next day, Eva’s emotions get the better of her as Johnny delivers his son’s eulogy, where he notes what a great father Aidan would have made. It’s too much for Eva to bear, and she flees the church in absolute agony. Meanwhile, meddlesome Simon just can’t let sleeping dogs lie as he rifles through Eva’s handbag – and chances upon a photo of Susie that was taken at the hospital after she was born. Handing the snap “It’s horrendous, because to Peter, who is already this isn’t just Toyah telling growing suspicious of the Peter that Susie isn’t his amount of time that Eva child, as she’s also failed spends with Susie, Simon to tell him that their baby sets the wheels in motion Johnny’s words strike died,” grimaces Georgia. a chord with Eva, who for his father’s shocking can’t bear it any more “It’s a real double whammy, discovery – as Toyah and the fact is that Peter has realises that her dream of been denied the opportunity being a mum is slipping away from her. • The Principal's Update
Issue No 175 Friday 22nd June 2018 The Principal’s Update What a wonderfully busy, bustling day it has been at Howell's. Next year's Year 7 cohort joined us for the day, making new friends, enjoying lunch and immersing themselves in Senior School life. The girls all seemed to have a fantastic day, and went home exhausted but still smiling. I am looking forward to welcoming them back in September. GCSEs came to an end this week and we went Back to Basics at Howell’s. I have been delighted by the response from students, and have never seen such shining, polished shoes, neatly tied hair or smartly pressed skirts. Many thanks to Mrs Chyba and all the staff and students who made the week such a success. On Wednesday evening, I very much enjoyed our Parent Pyramid Social in the Hub @ Howell’s. It was lovely to chat informally with Junior School, Senior School and College parents over a glass of wine and canapés and fill them in about future initiatives and events coming up at Howell’s. As your daughter moves through the Senior School and then into the College, it can become rare for you to spend time with their friends' parents. These informal events give everyone the opportunity to meet other Howell's parents, from right across the school. Yesterday evening we opened our GCSE and A-level Art Exhibition, showcasing the fantastic work our students have created. There is so much artistic talent in our school nurtured by Mrs Eddy and the rest of the Art department, and there are some incredible pieces in the exhibition.
