With Livingstone, a thoroughbred gelding bred by her neighbour and purchased as a four-year-old, Hawley formed a truly incredible partnership. Following a fourth place fi nish at the 1998 North American Young Riders’ Championship, Hawley, then 21, was named to the Canadian Eventing Team Long List. In 2002, Hawley and Livingstone fi nished 14th at the CCI*** Fair Hill International and, the following year, enjoyed a clear cross-country performance at the prestigious CCI**** Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. In the fall of 2003, they were members of the Silver Medal Team at the 2003 Pan American Eventing Championships and Hawley’s Olympic dream became a reality when she and Livingstone represented the Canadian Equestrian Team in Athens, Greece. In 2005, the fairy tale continued when Hawley and Livingstone traveled to Sweden where they placed 15th in the World Cup Final. Hawley credits her groom, Stacey Thorson, the never-ending support of her mother, Gerry, and her coaches, Pam Arthur and Buck Davidson, for her success.
