Importer & Distributor of Quality Scottish Brands Importer & Distributor of Quality Scottish Brands www.greatscotintl.com www.s-s-f.com 1-877-359-8369 CHARLOTTE NC Great Scot International, Inc. was established in 1997 in Charlotte, North Carolina. specializing in supplying food, candies and beverages manufactured by Scottish companies. Products such as shortbread, oatcakes, heather honey (and haggis!) have been uniquely associated with Scottish fayre. Fine blends of tea have been produced Scottish tea companies since the 1800’s. The ubiquitous Scottish whisky has been used to add a subtle taste to orange marmalades, mustards, honeys and candies. Great Scot is the sole importer of Scotland’s other national drink - Irn-Bru - a citrussy vanilla soda that is the top selling CSD in Scotland. Scottish foods and candies are made form all natural ingredients with no artificial flavoring and coloring. Some products are uniquely suitable for diet intolerant consumers eg Nairns oat cookies. The packaging of Scottish products is outstanding often with a splash of tartan. We import all our products direct to our warehouse in Charlotte NC and supply distributors throughout the US as well as retailers direct. The information enclosed details the current range of products we offer. Pyramid Collection Peppermint Bright green cut leaves are used in this classic herbal tea which both stimulates and refreshes – a wonderfully effective after-dinner ‘digestif’ that will settle over-worked stomachs and cleanse the palate. Red Berry Crush Taste summer in a cup with this utterly delicious mix of hibiscus, rosehip, apple pieces and orange peel. Once you add freshly-drawn boiled water the tea turns a beautiful sunset red and the aroma and taste are full of fruitiness. Green Tea with Japanese Cherry A truly exquisite blend of delicate green tea leaves blended with the subtle flavour of Japanese cherry blossom. The twist of floral fruitiness paired with the health-giving properties of green tea make this one of our favourites. 8041 Arrowridge Blvd Unit i Charlotte NC 28273 1-877-359-8369 www.greatscotintl.com [email protected] ph: (704) 535-8955 fax: (704) 973-9735 Brodies Teas Units Case Net Wt SKU UPC/EAN PRODUCT Per Weight oz Case Lbs Red Bags (Loose Leaf Tea) BR-TN40 649609 011866 Scottish Breakfast - Loose Leaf 8.8 12 7.6 BR-TR40 5022841001874 Scottish Teatime - Loose Leaf 8.8 12 7.6 BR-TP40 649609011910 Famous Edinburgh - Loose Leaf 8.8 12 7.6 BR-TP40 649609011842 Assam - Loose Leaf 8.8 12 7.6 BR-TP40 649609011880 Earl Grey - Loose Leaf 8.8 12 7.6 BR-TP40 649609011828 Darjeeling - Loose Leaf 8.8 12 7.6 Drums (50 Tea Bags) BR-TN65 649609015659 Scottish Breakfast - 50 Teabags 4.4 12 5.6 BR-TR65 649609015666 Scottish Teatime - 50 Teabags 4.4 12 5.6 BR-TP65 649609015673 Famous Edinburgh - 50 Teabags 4.4 12 5.6 BR-TAT65 649609015680 Edinburgh Tattoo - 50 Teabags 4.4 12 5.6 Cartons (100 Teabags) BR-TP10 5022841000983 Famous Edinburgh - 100 Teabags 8.8 16 11 Pyramid Bags (15 biodegradable bags) BR-TPEP90 5022841300045 Peppermint Tea 1.0 6 2 BR-TRB90 5022841300052 Red Berry Crush 1.6 6 2 BR-TWJAP90 5022841300069 Green Tea with Japanese Cherry 1.3 6 2 8041 Arrowridge Blvd Unit i Charlotte NC 28273 1-877-359-8369 www.greatscotintl.com [email protected] ph: (704) 535-8955 fax: (704) 973-9735 Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company’s history dates back to 1812 when sailing ships brought delicacies from the New World directly into Leith. Mackie’s of Scotland, an ice cream manufacturer in Aberdeenshire and Taypack, potato growers and processors in Perthshire, have come together to produce a new range of thick cut potato chips (crisps). Mackies Chips contain all natural ingredients and are made with locally grown potatoes. A Unique Cooking Process We use thermal oil (not direct gas) to heat up the frying oil – this prevents hot spots in the fryer. This keeps the FFA, peroxide and polar values to a minimum. This ensures a longer shelf life and a consistent fresh taste of potato. Our frying process achieves better fat levels - 24-26% which is lower than the average crisp. We use only high oleic sunflower oil, which has the most suitable fatty acid profile for frying Our frying process ensures a low acrylamide content Our frying process is continuous but we can replicate the temperature profile of a batch fried crisp. We can alter temperatures and times within different sections of our fryer. We can therefore vary the crispiness & hardness of the crisp – to meet any brief. • Press Release Macfarlane Labels Seal It with Walkers Shortbread
Press Release Macfarlane Labels Seal it with Walkers Shortbread Macfarlane Labels Ltd, leading specialist in self adhesive and re-sealable labels, have launched their innovative packaging system, Reseal-it, in the UK with Walkers Shortbread Ltd, the worldwide brand famous for traditional Scottish products including shortbread and oatcakes. Reseal-it is a re-closable and tamper-evident labelling system which allows consumers to easily open products and reseal them again, without the fuss of cling film or storage containers. This ensures freshness and pack integrity while helping to prolong the life of the food product resulting in less food waste. Macfarlane Labels’ Reseal-it pack concepts have already gained significant success and popularity in Europe and North America with over 600 million packs sold in the last three years. Gregor Williamson, Managing Director at Macfarlane Labels, said: “Following our recent expansion of Reseal-it into the biscuit market in Europe from our traditional markets in sliced meats and cheese, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to launch Reseal-it in the UK with a well established brand like Walkers Shortbread. “Walkers chose Macfarlane Labels’ pre-applied system, which involves the application of Reseal-it labels to Walkers’ existing printed film stock, giving Walkers an economical, quick and investment free access to the benefits of Reseal-it.” 1 Richard Walker, Technical Director at Walkers Shortbread, said: “We initially trialled it on one pack size and noticed significant benefits to both us and consumers. “We continually aim to deliver the highest quality to our customers and one thing we always keep an eye on is developments in packaging technology.

Baked with whole grain oats, the new cookies will be sampled at the 38th Annual NASFT (National Association for the Specialty Food Trade) Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, Calif. from January 20 to 22 at booth #746. Walkers’ first-ever oatmeal cookie will satisfy sweet-tooth cravings for consumers who are looking for gourmet bite sized foods with clean and simple ingredients. “Oats are a quintessentially Scottish food,” says Steve Dawson, president of Walkers Shortbread. “Oats are used in porridge, skirlie (a form of white pudding), oatcakes, and now the Walkers family is proud to bake them into these bite-sized, crunchy and buttery cookies.” The Mini Crunchy Oatmeal Cookie package contains 28 bite-sized indulgences and come in a convenient re-sealable ‘grab and go’ bag. The cookies contain only all-natural ingredients and are made with whole grain oats, sweet creamery butter, whole-wheat flour and a lick of Golden Syrup. The 4.4-ounce bag will be available for purchase online at www.walkersus.com and retail stores nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $3.49.
