DHRUVA NARAYANA: SHRI P. K. BIJU: Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has formulated/proposes to formulate an integrated policy for promotion of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country and if so, the details thereof along with the fund allocated for the purpose; (b) whether Government proposes to increase the credit guarantee/cash credit limit to small & medium enterprises to encourage the SME sector and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; (c) whether the Government also proposes to create an MSME data bank and if so, the details and the present status thereof, State/UT-wise; and (d) the other steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government for promotion of MSME sector in the country? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SHRI HARIBHAI PARATHIBHAI CHAUDHARY) (a): A major initiative has been taken by the Government towards formulating an integrated policy for promotion and development of MSME sector in the country i.e. constitution of a One-Man Committee with Shri Prabhat Kumar, former Cabinet Secretary, Government of India and also former Governor, Jharkhand State, as Chairman. The Committee has submitted its report to the Ministry. No specific funds have been allocated for the purpose. (b): The Government has increased the coverage of loans covered under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for MSEs from Rs.1 crore to Rs 2 crore with effect from 01.01.2017.
