  • Analysis of Talk Shows Between Obama and Trump Administrations by Jack Norcross — 69
Analysis of Talk Shows Between Obama and Trump Administrations by Jack Norcross — 69 An Analysis of the Political Affiliations and Professions of Sunday Talk Show Guests Between the Obama and Trump Administrations Jack Norcross Journalism Elon University Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements in an undergraduate senior capstone course in communications Abstract The Sunday morning talk shows have long been a platform for high-quality journalism and analysis of the week’s top political headlines. This research will compare guests between the first two years of Barack Obama’s presidency and the first two years of Donald Trump’s presidency. A quantitative content analysis of television transcripts was used to identify changes in both the political affiliations and profession of the guests who appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” CBS’s “Face the Nation,” ABC’s “This Week” and “Fox News Sunday” between the two administrations. Findings indicated that the dominant political viewpoint of guests differed by show during the Obama administration, while all shows hosted more Republicans than Democrats during the Trump administration. Furthermore, U.S. Senators and TV/Radio journalists were cumulatively the most frequent guests on the programs. I. Introduction Sunday morning political talk shows have been around since 1947, when NBC’s “Meet the Press” brought on politicians and newsmakers to be questioned by members of the press. The show’s format would evolve over the next 70 years, and give rise to fellow Sunday morning competitors including ABC’s “This Week,” CBS’s “Face the Nation” and “Fox News Sunday.” Since the mid-twentieth century, the overall media landscape significantly changed with the rise of cable news, social media and the consumption of online content.

  • February 26, 2021 Amazon Warehouse Workers In
February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. We strongly urge all Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer to VOTE UNION YES. From founders Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter’s and Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson’s humble beginnings at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA), to their double digit recorded albums and EPs, to an endless overseas touring schedule, and their current position as house band on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC, The Roots have influenced generations of artists locally, nationally, and globally. As Mural Arts continues to redefine muralism in the 21st century, this project was one of its most ambitious and far-reaching yet, including elements such as audio and video, city-wide engagement through paint days, a talkback lecture series, and a pop-up studio. Working alongside SEFG Entertainment LLC and other arts and culture partners, Mural Arts produced a larger-than-life mural to showcase the breadth of The Roots’ musical accomplishments and their place in the pantheon of Philadelphia’s rich musical history. The mural is located at 512 S. Broad Street on the wall of World Communications Charter School, not far from CAPA, where The Roots were founded.

  • WHCA): Videotapes of Public Affairs, News, and Other Television Broadcasts, 1973-77
Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library White House Communications Agency (WHCA): Videotapes of Public Affairs, News, and Other Television Broadcasts, 1973-77 WHCA selectively created, or acquired, videorecordings of news and public affairs broadcasts from the national networks CBS, NBC, and ABC; the public broadcast station WETA in Washington, DC; and various local station affiliates. Program examples include: news special reports, national presidential addresses and press conferences, local presidential events, guest interviews of administration officials, appearances of Ford family members, and the 1976 Republican Convention and Ford-Carter debates. In addition, WHCA created weekly compilation tapes of selected stories from network evening news programs. Click here for more details about the contents of the "Weekly News Summary" tapes All WHCA videorecordings are listed in the table below according to approximate original broadcast date. The last entries, however, are for compilation tapes of selected television appearances by Mrs. Ford, 1974-76. The tables are based on WHCA’s daily logs. “Tape Length” refers to the total recording time available, not actual broadcast duration. Copyright Notice: Although presidential addresses and very comparable public events are in the public domain, the broadcaster holds the rights to all of its own original content. This would include, for example, reporter commentaries and any supplemental information or images. Researchers may acquire copies of the videorecordings, but use of the copyrighted portions is restricted to private study and “fair use” in scholarship and research under copyright law (Title 17 U.S. Code). • The #1 Secret for Improving Your Speaking Voice
The #1 Secret for Improving Your Speaking Voice (That Most Voice Coaches Don’t Know!) Nancy Daniels 2 The #1 Secret For Improving Your Speaking Voice (That Most Voice Coaches Don’t Know!) by Nancy Daniels, The Voice Lady www.voicedynamic.com [email protected] 888-627-2824 856-627-6040 ©2010 3 Just When You Think You Have Your Act Together …You Hear Yourself on Your Answering Machine! Do you believe that the image you project has an impact on your professional or business life? I would imagine that your answer is yes. I would also imagine that you have heard yourself on some type of recording equipment – your voicemail, an answering machine, a camcorder, or maybe even an old audio tape recorder. When you hear your recorded voice, what is your reaction? Are you shocked, maybe embarrassed? How about humiliated? In all the years I have been speaking professionally about the sound of the voice, I always ask that question of my audience. 99% do not raise their hands. In fact, most tend to look around the room uncomfortably, possibly hoping I will not call upon them to speak. The reason for their discomfort is because, in being asked that question, they have an idea of what I am going to say next and they do not want to hear it. It goes something like this: The voice you hear on your voicemail or other type of recording equipment is how everyone else recognizes you. Let 4 me say that again. The voice which embarrasses, humiliates, disgusts, or shocks you is how everyone else recognizes you.

Latta, Ph.D. in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies Xavier University Cincinnati, OH May 2017 Running head: GETTING TO “THE POINTE” Running head: GETTING TO “THE POINTE” GETTING TO “THE POINTE”: ASSESSING THE LIGHT AND DARK DIMENSIONS OF LEADESHIP ATTRIBUTES IN BALLET CULTURE Ashley Lauren Whitely Dissertation Advisor: Gail F. Latta, Ph.D. Abstract The focus of this ethnographic study is to examine the industry-wide culture of the American ballet. Two additional research questions guided the investigation: what attributes, and their light and dark dimensions, are valued among individuals selected for leadership roles within the culture, and how does the ballet industry nurture these attributes? An understanding of the culture was garnered through observations and interviews conducted in three classically-based professional ballet companies in the United States: one located in the Rocky Mountain region, one in the Midwestern region, and one in the Pacific Northwest region. Data analysis brought forth cultural and leadership themes revealing an industry consumed by “the ideal” to the point that members are willing to make sacrifices, both at the individual and organizational levels, for the pursuit of beauty. The ballet culture was found to expect its leaders to manifest the light dimensions of attributes valued by the culture, because these individuals are elevated to the extent that they “become the culture,” but they also allow these individuals to simultaneously exemplify the dark dimensions of these attributes.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he got his start in the entertainment industry as a drummer for several punk bands in the UK. Following his musical stint, he began bartending at a local pub in Glasgow where he was introduced to Michael Boyd, the artistic director of The Tron Theatre in Glasgow who persuaded Ferguson to give acting a go. After several low playing acting gigs, he discovered he had a knack for comedy and was soon the star of his own BBC television show, “The Ferguson Theory” in 1994. After several stints on the English comedy circuit, Ferguson brought his act to the US in 1995 when he starred with Marie Osmond and Betty White in the short-lived ABC sitcom, “Maybe This Time.” After the show ended, the network decided to add the talented Scotsman to “The Drew Carey Show” where he joined the cast in 1996 playing the role of Drew’s boss, “Nigel Wick” for eight seasons. Along with acting, he has written such feature films as The Big Tease (1999) and Saving Grace (2000).
