BIOGRAPHY (long) Early in his life, Vienna-born Andreas Jankowitsch learned how to play the piano. He was soprano soloist at the Vienna Boys’ Choir and studied organ, composition and singing at the Vienna University of Music with Walter Berry, Robert Holl and Franz Lukasovsky. It was during his studies that he joined the ensemble of the Salzburg Regional Theatre, working together with Harry Kupfer and Stephane Deneve. Shortly after his engagement in Salzburg, he has been singing at renowned international theatres in Germany (Berlin, Darmstadt), Spain (Zaragossa, Valencia, Gijon, Bilbao), Italy (Udine, Pordenone), France (Lyon), Austria (Festspiele Bregenz, Festspielhaus Salzburg) and in many other countries.
