Bush Walking The 440km Hume and Hovell Walking Track crosses the at the campsite. The historic and scenic track offers long distance walkers a25 day walk or short easy walks. Flora and Fauna Native wildflowers abound on the river banks and the surrounding high country around the valley in the spring and summer time. The rare Tumut Grevillea occurs only along a few kilometers of the valley and produces a mass of pink flowers during October and November. Bird watchers can see many species of native birds, including lyre birds. ln the nearby bushland are wombats, wallabies and echidnas Canoeing The Goobarragandra River is highly regarded by canoeist and Kayaking enthusiasts. The changing flows offer seasonal adventures. Other attractions in the area. ln the surrounding regions you can enjoy four wheel driving on approved bush routes or enjoy horse riding. Take the scenic road tours to the apple centre of the , Batlow, and its variety of other fruit orchards. Visit the early settlers huts and the old Coolamine homestead. The nearby Yarrongabilly Caves are well worth visiting. How to get there

The Thomas Boyd Trackhead camping area is. approx 20km east of Tumut on the Lacmalac/ Goobarragandra Road and is situated on the Hume and Hovell Walking Track. Camping information Facilities include well-grassed riverside camping sites, outdoor picnic tables, fireplaces, and weather shed with tables and two pushbutton electric barbeques. The amenities block has flush toilets, hand basins and wash-up sinks. Hot water is on tap. There are NO showers.

A ranger will visit your site on the day of your arrival to collect camping fees. Concessions are available for large groups and week-long stays. Site bookings are not taken, but advance information of large groups would be appreciated. please be aware that the site is well used over the holidays and long weekends.

Please observe fire restrictions. Camp fires are only permitted in designated fireplaces and subject to fire restrictions. Bring your own wood and DO NOT cut down shrubs or trees.

The trackhead is situated on land owned by the Land and Property Management Authority, and is managed by the Goobarragandra Valley Reserves Trust. Always respect the land
