Participants: Camporee is open to all Scouts BSA Troops, Crews and second year WEBELOS sponsored by a troop.

WEBELOS: Webelos are encouraged to come and participate in all the excitement for the crack of dawn to the end of evening campfire at Camporee. They can look forward to camping at Camporee when they are official members of a troop in Scouts BSA. https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/gss/gss03/ Webelos will not be spending the night

Cost: $16.00 per person--youth or adult. Fee is the same whether one stays overnight or just attends on Saturday or camps on Friday night only.

Facilities: There are a number of sites which have Adirondacks. Those sites will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. However each unit will be given a maximum of two adirondack and small units (6 scouts, 2 leaders) will be allocated one. Remember--adults and youth cannot share a cabin or tent. All units must bring enough tents to house their people appropriately. You cannot be guaranteed an adirondack.

Water: Potable water is available.

Fires: Fires are in camp permitted in authorized camp stoves, fireplaces or fire rings only. No fire shall be left unattended or be permitted to cause damage to park, facilities or areas. Every fire shall be extinguished before its users leave the park area. Each unit will be required to bring their own firewood

Emergency Phone: Cell phones work in most areas, if needed call 911 immediately then notify camp staff. Cell phones cannot be used to research material for the camporee games or activities.

Troop Check in: will be from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Friday or immediately upon arrival Saturday. Scouts should be prepared to carry their personal gear from the gate to the camp area--less than ½ mile. Scouts will be inspected by the staff before heading down the road to camp. At check in a unit will: Need to provide a roster of scouts participating turned in to registration and show medical forms which the unit will keep. Health forms are required for all participants (both youth and adult) Health forms will stay with the unit.

Patrol Check in: Each patrol should be ready to show that the members know the Oath and Law, Each patrol should have a proper patrol flag which fits their name, All scouts should be in uniform. (Minimum requirement is a shirt with proper badges) Each patrol will be asked to do their patrol yell or song. All gear should be packed appropriately. Scouts may be asked a question about the history and/or traditions of scouting

Check out: Units leaving Saturday Evening need to check out before campfire. Units checking out Sunday need to have their site inspected by Staff before they leave. It is

expected that all units will be out of camp by 10:30 AM. Anyone leaving camp as individuals need to sign out at headquarters. Each troop is responsible for litter sweeping their site before asking for a check out inspection. All garbage needs to be taken out by the troop

Suggested Individual gear: Rain gear, change of clothing, class A uniform, extra socks and shoes, hygiene supplies, jacket, water bottle, flashlight with extra batteries, sleeping bag, extra blankets if needed, mess kit, cup, pocket knife, compass, hat, personal first aid kit, fire starter, Ground cloth/pad, tent

Do not bring: Alcoholic beverages, lighter fluid, firearms or ammunition, fire works electric devices (ipods, games etc) or pets.

Campfire: It is expected that each patrol participate in Saturday Night’s campfire. Please list your song or skit in the Patrol Roster. The staff member in charge of the campfire will review these skits/songs for appropriateness/duplication etc Saturday during the activities and prepare a program for Campfire. The number one problem with camporee campfires is that scouts do not speak up. Remind them and have them practice projecting their voice so that all in the audience can hear. It is wise to bring your own chair to campfire.

Campsite Inspection: During the activities Saturday afternoon, each patrol site will be inspected. Criteria for the inspection includes: Is the site clearly marked, clean and neat. Is the equipment arranged neatly and appropriately. Are tents set up correctly and have ground cloths. Does the site reflect scout skill and/or spirit.

First Aid: There will be a staff member assigned as medic. He/she will be introduced at the Friday Cracker barrel. All incidences that require medical attention, no matter how large or small, need to be reported to the medic.

Uniforms: Class A uniforms should be worn during check in, flag ceremonies, awards, campfire and Sunday service. During Saturday’s activities the scout should dress appropriately.

Tool use: One activity will require the patrol to work on clearing trails in the park. All scouts may use hand tools. In order to use a string trimmer--weed wacker the scout needs to be 16 or older. Patrols will get bonus points for providing their own tools-- clippers, rakes, hoes, shovels.

General Camp Rules

1. Do not enter other unit’s campsite without permission. 2. Do not cut live trees or branches. 3. Do not touch materials set up for events until you have permission from the staff member in charge. 4. Carry a water bottle. Drink lots of water. 5. Wash your hands before eating or preparing food. 6. Wash your hands after using the restroom. 7. Keep track of your belongings, we are not responsible for lost items. 8. Generally, leave no trace. 9. No football--even touch.

Events: Camporee is the largest event sponsored by the district. Scouts get to participate in educational activities, fun activities and activities which allow them to demonstrate their scouting skills. This year the theme of the camporee is Keep it Scout Simple. Most of the events are based on having fun and team building with basic scout skills mixed in. Scoring for this years Camporee will be based around participation with an honor patrol system and overall champion. Scored items will include Pack check during check in, campsite inspections, in camp pioneering project, campsite gateway ○this could be your pioneering project, include patrol identification○, patrol flag, and campfire participation. Keeping with the KISS theme, rock star costumes are encouraged and may be worth extra points. All scored items are required to earn honor patrol.

Staff: After morning announcements SPL’s will be asked to join the camp staff in assisting with the events
