Born in 1898 in Castleford, Yorkshire, England. Died in 1986 in Much Hadham, East Hertfordshire, England.

Education:

1916 Taught at Castleford Grammar School, Castleford, England. 1919 Studied at Leeds School of Art, Leeds, England. 1921 Royal Exhibition Scholarship to study sculpture at the Royal Academy of Art in London, England. 1921–24 Studied at the Royal Academy of Art in London, England with travelling scholarships to Paris, France in 1923 and Italy in 1925. 1924–32 Taught at the Royal Academy of Art in London, England. 1932–39 Taught at Chelsea School of Art in London, England.
