Mixed Media Supply List 54082 Six Tuesdays, 6:30 – 9:30 pm, July 7 – August 11 [taught by Kathleen Nicastro] This class will allow you to make artworks using your choice of materials, with personalized guidance and instruction by artist teachers known for their mastery of collage and creative use of materials. Your artwork will be your very own—whether you are just starting to make art or need a change of pace. Please note: You do not need everything on the list below. All materials will be discussed the first class. We recommend you bring any of the following materials you already have to the first session of your class. You will only need paper and pencil for the first class. If you do not have materials for the first class, please do not fret, we will have some of these to experiment with so that you can buy only what you will use for subsequent classes. MATERIALS COMMONLY USED IN MIXED MEDIA ART: You need only pencil and paper for first class. o Paper for warm up drawing (might be able to use later.) o Drawing pencil, 2b. Acrylic mediums in your choice of gloss, matte or semi-gloss—can be used as a glue and as a coating that seals the surface Watercolor pencils Graphite pencils, colored pencils Sharpie markers or other permanent markers Acrylic paints and brushes, acrylic (drawing) inks Any glues, adhesives or tapes , especially those that are archival and/or appeal to your design sense scissors exacto knife OTHER ITEMS YOU MIGHT WANT TO EXPERIMENT WITH: Photographs, personal letters, ephemera, anything you would like to play with including stamps, stickers or stencils Old artworks you made and no longer want to preserve—make this decision only with your own original drawings and paintings Fabrics and fabric glues or needle and thread Recycled papers—newsprint, magazines, mailings and discarded old books are great to work with Wood elements: shapes, blocks, pieces WHERE CAN YOU FIND MATERIALS: The Art Store, South Town Plaza, Jefferson Road, Henrietta; Rochester Art Supply, West Main Street; Michaels, JoAnn's Fabrics, or Hobby Lobby Please direct any questions regarding this supply list to the Creative Workshop Office at (585) 276-8959 or [email protected] or Rachael Baldanza at 585-276-8956 .
