Brief Introduction about the School (highlighting important activities) There are four Departments under the School of Economics, Management & Information Sciences at present viz Economics, Commerce, Library & Information Sciences and Management. Economics Department is one of the oldest departments in the University. It was started in 1979 (during the era of then North Eastern Hill University Mizoram Campus). Then came the Department of Library & Information Sciences and also Commerce Department. The youngest Department under the School is Management. Teaching has been started since the last academic session in the department of Management. The Department has also published its First Semester Result. Department of Economics completed successfully its project entitled Enhancing Trade Related Research Capacity Amongst Universities & Individual Researchers” under United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). For the first year under the project, rupees twenty five lakh has been spent. The project has been renewed for the second year. The worth of the second year Project would be rupees twenty two lakh. Various programmes that would be taken up include : Training-Workshop for fifteen days, International Seminar, granting fellowships, etc. As requested by the Vice Chairman and Secretary of the State Planning Board Mizoram, the teaching faculty of the Department of Economics submitted the broad frame work of development plan of Mizoram giving their views priority, and emphasis in the matter. 6. Brief Introduction The Department of Economics, Mizoram University was started in 1979 under NEHU, Mizoram Campus with just one teacher and a few students. The student intake capacity was raised from 20 to 50 in 1996. This was later reduced to 40 again with the starting of Mizoram University in July, 2001. Since recently, there has been a lot of improvement in the performance and the percentage of successful students including Ph.D. scholars in the Department. 4. Brief Introduction The Department of Library and Information Science was established during the academic session 2002-03. Prof. A.K.Sharma, the then Vice-Chancellor formally inaugurated the Department on 20th August 2002 .The Department initially offered a one year B.L.I.Science course and a One Year MLIS Course. Presently, the Dept. is offering Two Years Integrated M.L.I.Science course and a One Year M.Phil pre – PhD Programme. Thus far 10 candidates have registered for Ph.D. During the year 2008-2009, one scholar Dr. R K Ngurtinkhuma, Lecturer has been awarded Ph.D. The 3rd Semester MLIS students went on a Curriculum Stipulated Study Tour to Kolkota and Guwahati under the guidance of Dr. R N Mishra, Lecturer of the Department. Carrying capacity is a concept that has been extensively applied in tourism and leisure studies since the 1960s, but its appearance can be date back to the 1930s. It may be viewed as an important thought in the eventual emergence of sustainability discussion, it has become less important in recent years as sustainability and its associated concepts have come to dominate planning on the management of tourism and its impacts. But the study of carrying capacity analysis is still an important tool to know the potentiality and future impact in tourism sector. Thus, up to some extent carrying capacity analysis is important study for tourist destinations and states like Mizoram. Mizoram is a small and young state with few thousands of visitors that visit the state every year.

Lalronunga2 1Department of Zoology, Pachhunga University College, , Aizawl-796 001, India 2Systematics and Toxicology Laboratory, Department of Zoology, Mizoram University, Aizawl – 796 004, India *Corresponding Author Email : [email protected] Paper received: 04.02.2020 Revised received: 03.07.2020 Accepted: 10.07.2020 Abstract Aim: The present study was undertaken to assess the fish biodiversity in buffer zone of rivers of the Dampa Tiger Reserve, Mizoram, India and to evaluate whether the protected river area provides some benefits to riverine fish biodiversity. Methodology: Surveys were conducted in different Rivers including the buffer zone of Dampa Tiger Reserve during the period of November, 2013 to May, 2014 and October, 2019. Fishes were caught using different fishing nets and gears. Collected fish specimens were identified to the lowest possible taxon using taxonomic keys. Specimens were deposited to the Pachhunga University College Museum of Fishes (PUCMF) and some specimens to Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) Kolkata. Shannon-Wiener diversity index was calculated. Results: A total of 50 species belonging to 6 orders, 18 families and 34 genera were collected. The order Cypriniformes dominated the collections comprising 50% of the total fish species collected. The survey resulted in the description of 2 new fishOnline species, viz.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 162 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Mizoram is pleased to make the following rules, namely :- Short title and 1. (1) These rules may be called the Mizoram Ministers, Leader of the commencement Opposition and Parliamentary Secretaries (Discretionary Grant) Rules, 2009. (2) They shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette of Mizoram. Application 2. Save as otherwise provided in these rules, these rules shall apply to all Ministers, Leader of the Opposition and Parliamentary Secretaries of Mizoram. Definition 3. In these rules unless the context otherwise requires :- (1) “Competent Authority” means the officer declared as such under Rule 14 of Delegation of Financial Powers Rules, 1978 as adapted by the State Government of Mizoram, or under the relevant provisions of the General Financial Rules, 2005, as the case may be. (2) “Department” means the Secretariat Administration Department in the Government of Mizoram, or the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Secretariat, as the case may be for the purposes of these Rules. (3) “Drawing and Disbursing Officer” means a Head of Office or any other Gazetted Officer designated or declared as such by Head of Department in the Secretariat Administration Department of Government of Mizoram or in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Secretariat, as the case may be, under Rule 14 of Delegation of Financial Powers Rules, 1978 or Rule 23 of General Financial Rules, 2005, as the case may be.
