PALABRAS CLAVE Transcripción, modificación tímbrica, groove , samples , grabación en estudio, loop . 4 ABSTRACT From a technical perspective of music, we can find different tools that allow us getting closer to any musical genre, which help to improve our performances and conscience about the descriptive features of those genres, liKe can be sheet music, transcriptions of the different instruments, musical analysis, among others. It is important to stand out that the audition process is the most basic and accessible tool for anyone, that connect us directly with music. In the case of MuteMath, a musical North American group, with a musical production of over 5 albums, where it shows the fusion of some distinct musical genres covering those liKe rocK, jazz and inclusive psychedelic soul, after an exhaustive investigation, could not be found more than the music itself, some videos and a few interviews of the members. The objective of this worK is about offering to the musical community, and so for myself, a very useful tool that worKs as a foundation of the performance and understanding about the music of MuteMath, which promote especially the incorporation of the interpretive and compositional ideas given by Darren King as the band’s drummer, so then they can be used in live concerts, studio recording and as support for the creation of very new ideas. The above is carried out by the analysis of three songs made by MuteMath, which were chosen because of their musical and performative quality, and because of the ways of approach the instrument (drums), maKing use of the alteration of the timbre by different process liKe using tape on the snare to cut off the harmonics, the use of 3 sticKs at the same time, among others.

December 9, 2011 http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/ontheverge/story/2011-12-06/on-the-verge-with-indie-rock-group-grouplove/51765840/1?loc=interstitialskip Grouplove grew out of friendship By Korina Lopez, USA TODAY Group love, indeed: This Los Angeles-based quintet certainly lives up to its name. "We never planned to be a band. We were friends first and we just love being together," says lead singer Christian Zucconi. "Grouplove grew organically from that love." Their debut album, with the tongue-in-cheek title Never Trust a Happy Song, is quickly spreading the love, too. Their sweet and savory mix of jangly, upbeat melodies, Zucconi's anguished howl and keyboardist Hannah Hooper's coquettish backup vocals have been making the rounds in indie rock circles and on the charts. Joyful, noisy single Colours peaked at No. 12 on USA TODAY's alternative chart. Another track, Tongue Tied, lassoed the new iPod Touch commercial, which ran during the Grammy nominations concert and has continued since Thanksgiving. Add Grouplove's lock as the opening band for Young the Giant's tour in March and April, and it's no wonder they're so lovey-dovey. Happy accidents: Zucconi wasn't always this upbeat. "Before Grouplove, I was in other bands, but the timing never seemed right," he says. "I'd wake up every day depressed, I spent so many years miserable doing music. But it's wonderful now how we overcame everything together. It's funny that Grouplove is such a happy band." The band members met each other in 2008 at an artist commune in Crete.

  • Observations About Leadership, Service, and Being a Human at Work
observations about leadership, service, and being a human at work FOREW0RD When Geoff asked me to write this, I accepted with delight and then immediately Googled “how to write a foreword.” The internet told me that it’s my job to introduce his work to the world, which seems like an awfully big responsibility. Geoff and I are unconventional friends, though, so I think it fitting that my contribution here sidesteps tradition a bit. I possess absolutely no authority that qualifies me to introduce the actual content of this book, so I won’t insult your intelligence by pretending I do. What I will do, with absolute confidence, is endorse its author. I could go on for an annoyingly long time about the kind of person he is, listing the many reasons I find him extraordinary until I’ve exhausted both you and all the known English superlatives. Instead of that, I’m going to tell you the most important thing you need to know about him before you start reading. Geoff is the most genuine person I’ve ever met. He passionately means every word you’re about to read and the tenets of his work are principles by which he actively lives. You’ll see some good examples of that throughout these pages, but I’m here to assure you that none of it is lip service – it’s legit. I’m lucky enough to get to witness it daily, so I could definitely tell you if he was faking. He’s not. I can’t guarantee that reading this will change your life as much as knowing Geoff has changed mine, but it’s a damn good place to start.

  • Chapter I Introduction
CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION This chapter deals with the topics of background of study, statement of problems, purpose of study, scope and limitation, significance of study, and definition of key terms. 1.1. Background of Study Language as a tool of communication is really important in human life; it has strong influence to the society relationship. Anggraini and Sudiran (2014:2), people use language to have relationship in the society; without language, people cannot interact and communicate to other. Language provides arbitrary signals, such as voice sounds, gestures, or written symbols which have the same roles to express human’s feelings, emotions and ideas. Therefore, literature that provides pleasure cannot be separated from language. Literature is basically divided into some types or genres. Turco (1999:9- 10) points out the types that are also called as genres that can be found in literature: Fiction, drama, poetry, and nonfiction. Each category consists of subgenres, such as novel, novella, novelette (long story), short story, short - short story (very short story), episode (one incident or even; in a longer work of fiction), and anecdote (a short account often of humorous interest) that belong to fiction; the tragedy, comedy, tragicomedy, and skit (a short dramatic presentation of a humorous or satiric turn) that belong to drama; the autobiography, biography, essay and discourse that belong to nonfiction; lyric, verse narrative, and verse drama that belong to poetry. 1 In making a literary work, the creative writers are not primarily concerning with the actual truth of particular events but also their imagination. Afterward, literature is a term used to describe written or spoken material into more technical works.
