    Jak si nastavit emulator ePSXe: (Pokud využijete emulátor přiložený k naší češtině, nic již nastavovat nemusíte! Tento návod je jen pro ty, jež si chtějí emulátor ePSXe nastavit ručně.) Vezmeme to pěkně od začátku. Stáhněte si z internetu program ePSXe – důležité sdělení, ne na všech verzích mi Final Fantasy IX dobře fungovalo. Paradoxně mi nejvíce vyhovovala starší verze 1.5.2. Betatest ovšem běžel na aktuální verzi 1.7.0. Kromě samotného emulátoru potřebujete ještě balík pluginů, nějakou tu paměťovou kartu a BIOS. Všechno kromě BIOSu je legálně ke stažení na intrnetu. BIOS si lze opatřit buď ze svého vlastního stolního PlayStationu nebo z internetu, což je ovšem nelegální cesta, neboť BIOS je majetkem společnosti Sony. Druhou možnost tedy nemohu podporovat. POSTUP krok po kroku… 1. Rozbalte si složku s programem ePSXe na libovolné místo, například do C:/Program Files. 2. Do adresáře „plugins“ v adresáři ePSXe rozbalte stažený balík pluginů a do adresáře „BIOS“ nahrajte svůj BIOS. 3. Dále je nutné nahrát si do složky „memcards“ své paměťové karty. Ty lze stáhnout též z internetu, například opět z pildových stránek. Existují však i programy, které umí karty vytvářet, formátovat a jinak spravovat. Třeba Memory card Manager, který naleznete v naší češtině. 4. Jakmile bude vše na svém místě, můžeme program spustit pomocí „ePSXe.exe“. Po prvním spuštění se objeví následující okno… 5. Samozřejmě si zvolíme možnost „Config>>“, protože chceme program nastavit. Bez nastavení nám bude k ničemu, protože nebude fungovat. 6. Po stisknutí tlačítka se otevře okno pro výběr BIOSu (viz níže). Existují dva druhy, my zvolme verzi pro USA, protože náš překlad je určen pro NTSC, nikoliv PAL verzi.

The public interest in early video games is high, as exhibitions, regular magazines on the topic and newspaper articles show. Games considered to be classic are rereleased for new generations of gaming hardware as well. As original systems cease to work because of hardware and media failures, methods to preserve obsolete video games for future generations have to be de- veloped. This work evaluates strategies for digital preservation of console video games. First it presents an overview of the history of console video game systems. Next an introduction to digital preservation and related work in common strate- gies for digital preservation and preserving interactive art is given. Then emulation as a preservation strategy and the PLANETS preservation planning approach for documented decision-making processes are described. When trying to preserve console video games one has to face the challenges of classified development documentation, legal aspects and extracting the contents from original media like cartridges with special hardware. Special controllers and non-digital items are used to extend the gaming experience making it difficult to preserve the look and feel of console video games.

This EPSXE 1.70 includes BIOS USA, JP and EU. There is also a Pete S GPU 2.9 graphics plug-in for version 1.7 that supports the current line of graphics cards. Note that this plug-in only supports removable cards and onboard cards are faulty config. (Very sorry) The first time you start ePsxe it will ask you to adjust the settings, you just click side by side to go through step 2 (see and do as shown below) Next goes the graphics setting up part of the game (you can choose what that plugin you like, If you do not know anything, just choose as shown in the picture ) Also, you can adjust to an advanced level (if you do not know, you can click next to to go through the next step, otherwise see the image below ) The area I circled red for ePsxe to the configuration itself to adjust the graphics, if your machine is weak, you have to click Fast or Good will give a better picture quality.

Jedoch kann der Emulator auch nicht jedes PlayStation-Spiel zu 100% emulieren und es können bei manchen Spielen auch Fehler auftreten, die man aber meist mit bestimmten Tricks umgehen kann.
