Rapport d’activité 2019 RAPPORT D’ACTIVITÉ 2019 DÉTAILLÉ PERSONNEL 1° Personnel salarié, bénévoles et stagiaires : - Conservateur Yves GILLY travaille à temps partiel (32 heures par semaine) depuis avril 1994. Il a participé à l’extérieur aux travaux de la Commission « Patrimoine Géologique » de Réserves Naturelles de France, et aux Conseils d’administration du GRAINE Aquitaine. - Garde – animateur Cyrille GRÉAUME travaille à temps plein depuis le 1er mars 2001 avec des missions d’animation, de suivi naturaliste, d’entretien des milieux et des sites. Il est garde animateur depuis janvier 2005. - Animateurs Philippe ROCHER travaille à temps plein depuis le 1er juillet 1999, mais est salarié depuis 1993. Il a, en plus de l’accueil du public, des missions concernant les collections et l’entretien des sites. Dina RAZAFINDRAMBAO est salariée depuis avril 2001. Elle a été embauchée à durée indéterminée le 1er juillet 2003. Elle s’occupe des missions liées à l’accueil du public. Elle participe également aux travaux de la Commission Education et Sensibilisation à la Nature des Réserves Naturelles de France, notamment au comité de pilotage et anime le groupe de travail « aires éducatives ». Kristell LE CAM est salariée depuis août 1999 avec aussi des missions de secrétariat et comptabilité. Elle a été embauchée à durée indéterminée le 1er juillet 2003. Grape Variety 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot Appellation Pessac-Léognan Classification Grand Cru Classe de Graves Website http://www.latourmartillac.com/en/the-wines/ General Info The estate takes its name from the tower which stands in the main courtyard of the château; it is the remnant of a fort built in the 12th century by the ancestors of Montesquieu. The structure occupied a strategic position and controlled the route between Bordeaux and Toulouse. The stones of the fort were used to build the existing château at the end of the 18th century. In 1871, the estate attracted the attention of Edouard Kressmann who had just founded his wine merchant business in Bordeaux. He was seduced by the quality of the white wines grown on a remarkable gravelly hilltop with marked relief and outstanding exposure. To this day one can still find in the plot grafted in 1884, the entire collection of Edouard Kressmann’s selection of grape varieties for his « Grave Monopole Dry », as baptised by the Diva, Adelina Patti. Enhanced by their great age these vine stocks embody the breed, verve and essence which still characterises this wine Alfred Kressmann, eldest son of Edouard, acquired the property in 1930. He changed the name: to avoid confusion with its illustrious namesake in the Medoc: Château Latour became Château LaTour-Martillac. There then followed a long period of reconstruction. The vineyard consists of a dozen hectares of which the majority was planted in white wine.

It was here that he found his cousins and fellow Germans involved in the wine business. Very soon, Edouard developed a passion for this business and began learning the ropes with a well- respected wine merchant of that time based on the Bacalan Quay. It was here that he aquired a thorough knowledge in wine tasting, blending and marketing. His tasting skills were legendary to everyone around him. - 3 - In 1871, Edouard Kressmann, bolstered by this experience, founded his own wine merchant business: « Edouard Kressmann & Cie ». It was while researching quality white wines for his clients, mainly in northern Europe (Germany, Holland, Scandinavia,…) that Edouard Kressmann discovered the elegance and the consistency of wines from the Graves, and in particular from the commune of Martillac.
