The foursome finished in 3:40.98, their best time of the season, leaving other teams in the dust by one half second. Lincoln’s relay team remained the top- ranked relay team in Division II throughout the indoor season and won at the indoor championships for the second straight year. Jones was also part of the 2009 indoor relay team that won the national title. 3 WWW.LUBLUETIGERS.COM LINCOLN UNIVERSITY TRACK AND FIELD LINCOLN UNIVERSITY TRACK AND FIELD Hackett Blazes Past The Competition Sophomore Semoy Hackett (Trinidad & Tobago) not only gained 20 points for the team, but she did so in style, setting meet records in both the 60- and 200-meter dashes at the indoor championships. Hack- ett improved her times each time from the preliminaries to the finals, as she came across with a time of 7.24 seconds to win the 60-meter, after posting a time of 7.28 in the prelims. Hackett trimmed over a half a second off her preliminary time to take the 200-meter in the final run, finishing with a time of 23.32, while her preliminary time was 23.87. Hackett’s 200-meter time of 23.32 was over two-tenths of a second better than the previous meet record time of 23.56 set by Lincoln’s own Davita Prender- gast back in 2007. Hackett trimmed over half a second off her indoor 200-meter time in 200 from her 2009 time in which she won with a time of 23.83. Hackett, now a seven-time national champion, was also named the South-Central Region Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Hackett also shined in the outdoor season as a freshman in 2009, com- ing away with top finishes in both the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays, as well as running away with the 200-meter outdoor crown with a time of 22.95. Hackett helped concluded her outdoor season with a fourth title in the 00-meter, coming across with a time of 11.8. 4 Lincoln Blue Tiger Track LINCOLN UNIVERSITY TRACK AND FIELD 60-Meter Dash Collects 14 Points The 60-meter dash proved very beneficial for the Blue Tigers, as

  • Un Aviso Para Bolt
Image not found or type unknown www.juventudrebelde.cu Image not found or type unknown Yohan Blake logró el octavo mejor tiempo de la historia del hectómetro.

  • Lerone Clarke Wins 2010 Commonwealth 100 Metres
Lerone Clarke Wins 2010 Commonwealth 100 metres On October 7, 2010, at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, Lerone Clarke underlined Jamaica’s dominance of men’s sprinting with a decisive victory in the 100 metres. Clarke's win, and gold for Trecia Smith in the triple jump, were the highlights of a solid Jamaican campaign in India. The little man from Hempstead, St Mary looked in full control in the preliminary rounds and eased off the gas in his semi-final when Aaron Armstrong of Trinidad and Tobago edged him with both timed in 10.14 seconds. “From the first round all the way to the final, I was confident, so I felt good going in and I felt good throughout the rounds and I know that in my mind, I was going to win”, he reviewed in a 2018 interview. He was right. Wearing his trademark black and white gloves, Clarke out-started the field in the final, accelerated strongly and held his form to win in 10.12 seconds well ahead of England's Mark Lewis-Francis. Though he won a gold medal as a member of the World Championships 4x100 metres relay squad in 2009, he was thrilled to receive the top prize in Delhi. “That is an emotional experience, like an out of body experience when you’re there”, said the William Knibb Memorial High, GC Foster College and Lincoln University graduate, “but you’re looking at yourself from above, just like, am I really here?” The success placed him in lofty company. That is because Jamaica had previously won the Commonwealth 100 metres title on five occasions, thanks to Keith Gardner in 1958, Donald Quarrie in 1970, 1974 and 1978 and Asafa Powell in 2006.
