Only 1.5 hours away from Ottawa, the Pembroke and Petawawa area offers the best of both worlds – a friendly, slow-paced, well- serviced and affordable local community, and an easy day-trip access to a larger centre for world-class medical care, arts and culture, dining, shopping and entertainment.

Pembroke and Petawawa are underserviced, high-need locations in terms of psychological services. Garrison Petawawa is located in Petawawa and employs over 5000 members, with a high veteran population choosing to remain in the area following release from military service. Mental health services are in high demand.

Ottawa

Ottawa is the capital of Canada with a vibrant arts, dining, shopping and entertainment scene and world- class medical care. Ottawa is home to four professional sports teams ( of the ; the of the League; the Ottawa Champions of the Canadian American Association of Professional ; and Atlético Ottawa of the ), seven national museums, and hosts many of Canada’s large annual festivals, including Bluesfest, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival and Winterlude. Access to outdoor activities ranging from skiing to white water rafting and hiking are all within a 1-hour drive.

Collaboration

Renew is searching for psychologists who are interested in providing on-site psychological supervision services in Ottawa and Pembroke/Petawawa for neurofeedback therapy for veterans.

• Clinic space will be offered to qualified psychologists in our current Pembroke clinic at no cost for the initial 6 months as they build their practice. • Psychologists are invited to build and maintain their own caseloads and practice, working from the Renew locations. • Renew will provide networking support as the psychologists build their practice. • Pertinent neurofeedback training and mentoring services, education, and resources will be provided at no cost. • Renew is open to collaboration and discussion regarding varying options and scenarios to ensure that the psychologists’ needs are specifically addressed. • Renew will prioritize process planning with the psychologists to ensure that college-mandated supervision regulations are met.

Renew Neurotherapy (www.renewneurotherapy.com) is an interdisciplinary community and clinic-based rehabilitation practice. Services are provided in person in Eastern and Northeastern , and online, throughout the province of Ontario. Physical clinics are based in Ottawa, Pembroke and North Bay; however, a large portion of caseload is community-based and online.
