MHaras de MONTAIGU 2014 bay -Ysoldina by Kendor

If ever a sire has a Classic pedigree it is WINGS OF EAGLES . By the Derby winner Pour Moi, grandson of , one of Europe’s greatest Classic sires, and out of the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches third Ysoldina, Wings Of Eagles holds a truly Classic pedigree.

DANZIG line mares have brought plenty of success for Montjeu and the branch could prove to be a strong starting point. Not only is Oasis Dream the sire of Wings of Eagles’ two black-type half-sisters, but he is also the dam-sire to Montjeu’s Group 3 winning granddaughter Lacy. With this, daughters of Naaqoos could prove to be an ideal cross. Montjeu’s (Gr 1) winner is out of a Green Desert daughter, while a son of Montjeu has sired a Group 3 winner to a daughter of Cape Cross. Invincible Spirit daughters will also be exciting, particularly as Invincible Spirit has sired his Group 1 winner to a Montjeu daughter. Mares by also look sure to produce results.

Montjeu has sired two of his Group 1 winners to line mares. is the broodmare-sire Montjeu’s Irish Oaks (Gr 1) winner , while Dansili’s son, , is the dam-sire of ’s first stakes winner. Pour Moi’s speedy smart group winner Only Mine is out of a Rock Of Gibraltar daughter while Montjeu’s Tavistock has produced a stakes winner to an Exceed And Excel daughter. Myboycharlie mares will be interesting as they will create line-breeding to Lalun.

Other strains that look sure to produce stakes results include , the dam-sire of Montjeu’s dual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr 1) winning granddaughter . is another Group 1 winner from the Montjeu sire-line out of an Anabaa daughter.

Another branch that looks sure to bring success for Wings Of Eagles is . Daughters of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr 1) winner could prove to be very strong. Peintre Celebre is not only proven in Wings Of Eagles’ family, but he is also the dam-sire of two Montjeu stakes winners. Any daughters look to be very potent as his daughters have produced three Group 1 winners, including Pour Moi’s Group 1 winning juvenile Sacred Elixir, to Montjeu sons. Spinning World is another son of Nureyev proven with the Montjeu sire-line, and Pivotal line mares will also create an attractive cross.

Line-breeding to SADLER’S WELLS is becoming a pattern within stakes winners and with Sadler’s Wells being Wings Of Eagles’ great grand-sire this cross has plenty of scope. Montjeu and his sons have sired stakes winners out of daughters of Singspiel, , and King Of Kings. Any mares via FAIRY KING , Sadler’s Wells brother, will be attractive as it will create line-breeding to Fairy Bridge.

Another Northern Dancer branch that will bring plenty of success is LINAMIX . The Montjeu line Group 1 winners and are both out of Linamix daughters. Martaline, Slickly and Rajsaman are all sons of Linamix.

NIJINSKY line mares have also brought success to Montjeu and his sons. Montjeu’s (Gr 1) winner Green Moon is out of Green Tune daughter while offspring of , Lomitas, Caerleon and Seattle Dancer are all proven on the Montjeu cross. Montjeu is also the grandsire to two Group 3 winners out of mares from the STORM BIRD line. The May Hill Stakes winner Pollenator is out of a Bluebird daughter while Ferevia is out of a granddaughter of Storm Cat. MHaras de MONTAIGU

Much of the Montjeu sire-line’s success has stemmed from MR PROSPECTOR line mares with over 40 stakes winners. Three of Montjeu’s Derby winners are bred on the cross; Camelot is out of a Kingmambo daughter; Frozen Fire held Woodman as his dam-sire and is out of a daughter. Mares from the Gone West sire-line have been particularly strong with Montjeu and his sons. Daughters of , Mr Greeley, Elusive Quality and Xaar have all produced stakes winners on the cross. With this, Elusive City and Iffraaj mares look to have real appeal. Other Montjeu Group 1 winners have come via daughters of Distant View and Machiavellian, while daughters of Whipper could be very interesting.

Another branch that has shown success with the Montjeu sire-line is . The six-time Group 1 winner Sir Nicholas Abbey is out of a Sure Blade daughter, while daughters have produced two stakes winners. A Montjeu son has sired a Group 3 winner to a daughter of , suggesting Muhtathir looks well positioned for success.

The sire-line is another proven with Montjeu and his sons. From the branch, Pour Moi has sired Listed winners to daughter of and , while Mont - jeu has sired two of his Group 1 winners and Tavistock to daughters of and respectively. With the Montjeu/Rahy cross producing stakes winners, daughters of Le Havre look exciting.

The branch has also bought plenty of top-class success to the Montjeu sire-line which in - cludes six Group 1 winners out of either or daughters. Line-breeding to Dar - shaan has produced results, but mares via , such as Exit To Nowhere and Lahib, will create line-breeding to both Never Bend and Lalun.

The GREY line could be worth trying via the KAKDOUN branch. Montjeu has sired two stakes winners to his Kaldoun daughters, so off-spring by the likes of Kaldounevees could be well worth trying. Although Wings Of Eagles is out of a daughter of Kendor, line-breeding back to other branches of the KENMARE sire-line, via Highest Honor and his son Verglas, could prove productive, particularly as Irish St Leger (Gr 1) winner was bred on the cross.

Mares from the ARCTIC TERN line also look to be attractive particularly as the Group 1 winner Jan Ver - meer is out of a Pennekamp daughter. AHONOORA line mares have produced three group winners for Montjeu sons via daughters of , the dam-sire of Group 1 winner Sea of Approval, Indian Ridge and Inchinor. The Sadler’s Wells/ MONSUN cross has produced 14 stakes winners including four at Group 1 level.
