Hello,
Welcome to the Bell Tower Theater! We are so pleased that you are here to join us.
When we opened the theater in 2003, we could only dream of the success we are now enjoying. The Bell Tower Theater has done truly wonderful things with more than 300,000 people attending our shows and participating in our programs. Our outstanding youth theater program provides arts learning experiences for kids from pre-school through high school. Many of these programs are free, but for those that have a fee, we have provided thousands of dollars in scholarships. Our goal is to make a difference in these young lives.
As most of you know the Bell Tower Theater is a not-for-profit organization. Corporations, foundations, local businesses and individuals have given their talent, time and treasure to help make the Bell Tower Theater what it is today. We would like to thank each and every person who has supported our efforts: our staff and teachers, our patrons, our volunteers, our cast and crew, and our donors. Great things are happening at the Bell Tower Theater, and we look forward to many more years. Please consider getting involved this year by attending shows, volunteering your time or making a financial contribution. We would love to have you as a part of our continued success.
Thank you for being here. We appreciate your continued support.
Now, sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

Rachel Megan is pleased to be a part of Exit Laughing, her third show with the Bell Tower. She previously performed in A Nice Family Christmas and the virtual play, Stuck at Home. Megan also performs with Die Laughing murder mystery theatre. Megan would like to thank her husband and two daughters for their love and support and the cast of Exit Laughing for making this a memorable experience.
Gerarda Lahey-Keppler ...... Connie Once again delighted at the honor, Gerarda returns to the Bell Tower stage for the third time. While she someday hopes herself to exit laughing, she appreciates and delights in the joy of living in the moment and loves working with the Bell Tower crew. She dedicates this performance to her beautiful sister, Mary Christine (Chris) who lived her life to the fullest, and also “urned” her way to heaven. Chris forever lives on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Christine Luksetich Sikula . . . . . Leona After an almost five-year hiatus, Christine returns to the Bell Tower Stage as Leona. She has been a nun, a nana and a naughty neighbor to name just a few of the characters she has played. From being in a Church Basement to hanging at a Love Shack, Christine has enjoyed each appearance at the Bell Tower. Christine’s parents, Tom and Rita, introduced her to the world of music, dance and theater many years ago. This performance is dedicated to her dad in heaven and her mom in Dubuque. Debbie Meyer ...... Millie Welcome back everyone! Debbie is excited to see all of you! You may have seen her this summer as Ruby in Pets in Quarantine. But she hasn’t been in the Bell Tower since Love Happens, way back in February! And since she knows that laughter is the best medicine, Exit Laughing is going to give you a double dose of it! Covid-19, watch out! Best vaccine ever! Enjoy the show!
Jared Rutkowski . . . . . Policeman/Bobby Jared graduated from Hempstead High School in 2019 and is currently enrolled at UD majoring in Digital Art & Design. You may have seen Jared previously in Chicago or Brighton Beach Memoirs at Hempstead or in RENT here at the Bell Tower Theater. Nothing beats good theatre!
Sue Riedel ...... Director Sue, our director and theater manager, is a graduate of Clarke University and retired in 2012 after 38 years of teaching Speech & Theater at Hempstead High School. Sue founded the Barn Community Theater in 1972 and was the Manager and Artistic Director of the Grand Opera House from 1986 to 2001. Sue serves on the Dubuque Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission and is a former member of the Iowa Arts Council Board of Directors. Sue has helped bring numerous movies to Dubuque County including Miles from Home, Take This Job and Shove It, and the Academy Award−nominated Field of Dreams. Sue hopes that you enjoy the show and that she will see you at the Bell Tower Theater again very soon. Exit Laughing is supported in part by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts through the federal CARES Act legislation.
