Installation Guide

U.S. Markets Introduction

This installation guide tells you how to load and configure Focalpoint® 3.5 SE into your PC. Focalpoint® 3.5 SE introduces the following changes to the Focalpoint product:

• Compatibility with all versions of Windows® 95, 98 and Windows NT® 4.0 (with minimum SP5).

• Supports Domain Name Systems (DNS).

• Scriptwriter™ is removed from the Focalpoint base product and Scriptwriter Plus™ is added to the Focalpoint Companions pull down menu when Scriptwriter Plus is installed.

• The ® Companions, Notepad, Cardfile, and Write/Wordpad are removed.

• Applications can be added to the Focalpoint Companions pull down menu and to the fixed toolbar through the Configure Toolbar menu item.

• On the File menu, the ‘revert’ command restores the Focalpoint to their original defaults at the time of installation, and the ‘restore’ on command restores the Focalpoint settings to their settings at the time Focalpoint was run.

Requirements

System Focalpoint® 3.5 SE will run on a Microsoft® , 98 or Windows NT® 4.0 (with minimum SP5) workstation already configured with TCP/IP network services.

Client Identification You will need a client ID and the primary and secondary configuration IP addresses. Your Galileo International representative provides you with both.

Minimum Hardware Requirements • Personal computer with a 486/66DX2 processor or higher • 16MB RAM (32MB RAM is recommended) • CD-ROM drive • 30MB of free disk space • TCP/IP network services

Software Requirements The following software may be required during the Focalpoint® installation: • Installation disks for Windows® 95, 98 or Windows NT® The following software must be reinstalled following a Focalpoint® installation: • If you are upgrading to the current Focalpoint 3.5 SE version from a previous version (3.0 or 3.2), or for the first time, you must reinstall any associated Galileo® System products after you have completed the Focalpoint installation. These products include Focalpoint Relay™ 3.0, Scriptwriter Plus™, Viewpoint™, Focalpoint Script Library (Scriptwriter Plus), GlobalWareSM Script Library (Scriptwriter Plus)

This software is designed to automatically install over previous versions of Focalpoint®. However, if you have problems before or after the installation, you should uninstall, then reinstall Focalpoint. Instructions for uninstalling are located after the Focalpoint 3.5 SE Installation.

Directory/File Structure The location of the three default directories and the software each contains, is listed below. • C:\FP\SWDIR This directory contains Focalpoint® 3.5 SE executable (*.exe) files • C:\FP\MACHINE This directory contains Focalpoint® 3.5 SE (*.ini) files. • C:\FP\DATADIR This directory contains all the users day-to-day saved data such as programmable keys.

Before You Begin • Close any open applications. • Disable any anti-virus programs • Have your Client ID and TCP/IP addressing information (primary and secondary configuration server IP addresses) ready. • Have your Apollo® or Galileo® host system sign on ready (SON/Z…) • TCP/IP network services must be configured and running before installation. • Have a current backup of your Focalpoint datafiles saved to disk.

Saving Data Files

The installation will attempt to save the Focalpoint data files (standard folders and file extensions) listed below, and restore them to the Focalpoint 3.5 SE environment. If an error is encountered during installation however they may be lost. It is always a good idea to have a current backup of these data files saved to disk.

Install Focalpoint® 3.5 SE 1. Insert the Focalpoint® 3.5 SE CD into the CDROM drive, follow the steps below to manually open the Focalpoint installation.

a. To display the Run dialog box, click the Start button on your , and then click Run on the pop-up menu box.

b. In the data entry area labeled Open: type the following: d:\setup.exe (this case assumes d: is your CD drive). Then click OK.

2. When the Focalpoint 3.50 Setup dialog box appears, click Next.

3. When the Check Setup Information dialog box appears, we recommend that you click Next to accept the defaults. Continue to step 11.

Note: If you want to change the defaults, click Advanced. The software, data and machine directories display as shown in steps 4-10. Either accept or modify each directory and click next.

4. When the Choose Software Directory, verify the path C:\FP\SWDIR\, and then click Next to accept the default directory.

The installation program will display the appropriate default directory in which to install the programs.

5. When the Choose Data Directory dialog box appears, click Next to accept the default directory.

6. When the Choose Machine Directory appears, click Next to accept the default directory

7. When the Select Focalpoint Options dialog box appears, clear the check box if you do not want to ‘Add Focalpoint® to Startup Group’.

Click Next.

8. When the International Options dialog box appears, click Next.

9. When the International Options dialog box appears, select English Language, then click Next.

10. The Check Setup Information dialog box appears. Click Next.

11. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Focalpoint a Warning screen will appear, click Yes.

If this screen does not appear, go to step 12.

At this point the installation will proceed, and display a status relative to each file being installed, total number of files in the installation directory, remaining space available on the destination drive and a status of the overall installation process.

12. On the Host-Focalpoint TCP/IP Configuration dialog box type the following:

Type the Client ID provided to you by Galileo International.

Select Use Fixed Configuration Server Addresses:

Primary Address: 198 177 164 151

Alternate Address: 198 177 164 152

Click OK.

13. The Setup Complete dialog box appears. If you do not wish to View release notes, uncheck the box. Click Finish to complete the setup.

Focalpoint® 3.5 SE is now installed

Note: Should it be necessary to change any of your Focalpoint TCP/IP settings, it may be done using the Galileo TCP/IP icon in your .

Start Focalpoint® Follow the steps below to start Focalpoint®.

To open and sign on to Focalpoint®

1. Double click on the Focalpoint® icon on your desktop. If the icon is not displayed, click Start, select Programs, Focalpoint, and then Focalpoint again to display the Focalpoint Logon dialog box.

2. Type your User ID and press enter, or click Start Focalpoint.

3. The FocalpointConfiguration Download Status screen appears once, the first time you attempt to connect to the Apollo® or Galileo® reservations system. When you see ‘Process completed successfully.’ Click OK.

4. The Focalpoint windows appear. Sign on to begin work in the Focalpoint session.

To sign on to Apollo® , type SON/ followed with your agency sign on at the start of message prompt (>). Then press the enter key.

You are now logged on and ready to begin making reservations.

To sign off and close Focalpoint® 1. Sign off Apollo®. Type SOF and press the enter key. 2. To close Focalpoint, press ALT+F4 or click X in the upper right hand corner of the Focalpoint screen. 3. When the Close Focalpoint dialog box appears, click Yes to close Focalpoint.

Note: If a second dialog box appears asking, “Do you wish to save the changed personalized settings?” answer in accordance with your preferences. You are now signed off of the Apollo® reservations system.

Uninstall Focalpoint® 3.5 SE If it is necessary to uninstall Focalpoint 3.5 SE, follow these steps:

1. From your desktop click Start, Settings, Control Panel. 2. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon in the resulting Control Panel window 3. Single click to highlight Focalpoint in the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box where those programs that "can be automatically removed by Windows" are listed.

Note: You may have to scroll up or down to locate Focalpoint. If it does not appear in the list, single-click on the Cancel button. 4. Single-click the Add/Remove... button at the bottom of the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstall process.
