LaDainian Tomlinson’s 5k/1-Mile Kids Fun Run presented by EDCO Race to Support Tomlinson’s Touching Lives Foundation
SAN DIEGO – Integrated Sports Marketing is proud to announce that former NFL running back LaDainian Tomlinson will host the “2014 LT 5k/1-Mile Kids Fun Run presented by EDCO.”
Coming to Southern California June 14, 2014, the event will once again take place at NTC Park at Liberty Station. Formerly a Naval Training Center, NTC Park has one of the most prominent park views in San Diego. With its 46-acre water access NTC Park at Liberty Station is the premier location to host the LT 5k.
Charitable proceeds benefit the Tomlinson’s Touching Lives Foundation: a nonprofit charity that engages in a number of programs designed to promote educational, social and cultural awareness and positive self-esteem to enhance the lives of children, families and communities.
The earnings will benefit places like the LT Learning Center and LT Helping Hands, both primarily helping children have the lives they deserve.
“Where other programs focus solely on performance, we go beyond the field to make sure you also get the proper information and instruction needed to succeed in life,” said Tomlinson. “I’m happy to have the opportunity to host this event and be able to give back to the San Diego community.”
The 5k run will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the 1-mile Kids Fun Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will include a beautiful walk around the water. After the 5k run, an awards ceremony for the top three men and women finishers will be held, along with family-themed music and entertainment. Paid entrants will also receive a commemorative LT 5K shirt and finisher medal, race gift bag, and a hand-signed LaDainian Tomlinson Football card (available to the first 1,000 paid participants).
Family owned and operated EDCO is this year’s presenting sponsor. Sandy Burr, of EDCO, added, “We’re happy to support LT in his charitable efforts to help children and families throughout San Diego County.”
These events will include a complimentary food court, a Kids Fun Zone with “bounce houses” and music.
