Once Halifax’s Poet Laureate, now a speaker and author whose voice is heard from coast to coast, Rebecca brings her generous, powerful storytelling to Symphony Nova Scotia to create a captivating and challenging new work. Plus: our orchestra performs Mozart’s vivid, energetic Symphony No. 34, and Brahms’ warm, lush, and radiant Second Symphony. Experience the joy and the genius of Mozart in this concert of three thrilling masterworks, starting with the rollicking, rip-roaring Marriage of Figaro Overture. Then, Halifax’s own virtuoso violinist Marc Djokic joins the orchestra for Mozart’s “Turkish” Violin Concerto, brimming with invention and imagination. Finally, hear Mozart’s iconic Symphony No. 40, the “Great G minor” — arguably the most popular of all his symphonic MARC DJOKIC creations, and one of the most recognizable classical works in the world.
