On her night off, Anna from Players joined Louise and Rebecca for a photo behind the bar in Susie’s Saloon.

We finally caught Steph behind the bar in H. Murray’s on a Saturday afternoon, so she has to go on Page Three.

It was a pleasant surprise to see Angelica behind the bar in Café Oporto on a Friday night; she hasn’t been in the Stun for months!

Page 3 The Editor’s Bit I really should start working on the Stun away while delivering last month’s Stun, but covers earlier instead of leaving it to the last ended up singing “Starman” in The End! moment every month. In the past, May was the month of the Rugby Sevens Tournament, but that’s moved to the start of June, so I can no longer use that for the cover. I forgot about the “Weekend van de Rollende Keukens” that I used for last year’s May cover, but I haven’t got any suitable photos anyway. In the end, I jumped on my bike yesterday afternoon and went into town to take a photo of a building that hasn’t been on the cover before. At least it means we can have an easy Cover Competition this month; details below right. Talking of afternoon; I ventured out in Anyway, all of our usual stuff is here, so daylight every weekend last month! Murray’s have generously donated a bottle of (red or white) house wine as a prize in this month’s Cover Competition. All you have to do is let us know where the building featured on this month’s cover is located. If you know the answer, send it to [email protected] by Monday 27th May and the winner will be selected from all of the correct entries.

My Kings Day Pub Crawl didn’t work out as planned; I got to Oporto around 5pm and only escaped after last orders had been called, so I didn’t make it to anywhere near the number of bars I wanted to visit. Photos from places I did get to on Kings Night & Day start on page 14. I really shouldn’t go to Oporto when I’ve got more places to go to. I managed to get

I noticed people self-consciously moved in place, sheepishly staring at their neighbours to see if they were as excited as they were pretending to be. The salvation of the night was the occasional cascade of melody from an amazing jazz saxophonist that would gently caress our ears from time to time, distracting us from the under-powered, non-effective beats. I think it might have been the first time a lot of the kiddies ever heard “real” music. Maybe we’re entering a new era of listening to music, and maybe even each other. I whispered a pleasant offer into the ear of a young lovely half my age. She swatted me with her purse. I guess no one had told her yet this was a time to listen. Terry Mann

Mark and Tamara posed outside the Blarney Stone with some bloke from Manchester who was here for Easter. Page 13 KINGS NIGHT Jojo at Rock On (Raamstraat 27) had an inside/outside bar for Kings Night and Day that was also selling craft beer in orange cans.

It must have been the Waterhole’s lighting because I could have sworn Ingrid’s jacket was orange before this photo of us was taken.

In the Waterhole, Rosanna, Filip, Jesse and Anna had Dutch tricolours on their faces, but only the guys dared to wear anything orange.

I thought this was just another photo of Alan and Rory until Alan said he’s never been in the Stun. I found it hard to believe, but after searching my archives, it looks like he’s right. Stun Photos Online Downloads & Prints - World-wide Shipping!
