Welcome-Weeks-2019-Schedule What is Welcome Weeks? Welcome Class of 2023! Congratulations! It is such a pleasure to welcome you to the Bronco family. The Wel- come Weeks Committee has put together an exciting series of events over the next four Welcome Weeks. This booklet will help you make the transition into Santa Clara University by suggesting events and programs to help you feel like a part of the SCU community. Take a few minutes now to see what is in store for you: • Flip through to see which events spark your interest. Remember, you may need to sign up in advance for some events. • Take a risk and explore your options. You may find a new interest or hobby that you didn’t think would appeal to you. • Attend events to meet other members of the Class of 2023 and the larger SCU community. • Keep in mind that this booklet identifies the programs that all first-year students are required to attend. Other than those events, the rest of the programs are in place for your enjoyment in between classes and homework! • Check your email and other social media to stay informed about exciting campus programs. On Sunday night, Associated Student Government (ASG) sends a di- gest of upcoming events for the week ahead. • A rich tradition at Jesuit schools across the country, is the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit. This event, scheduled for October 2, 12:00pm in the Mission Church, marks the start of the new academic year and is open to all members of the SCU community. Following Mass is a community-wide lunch. • Mark your calendar NOW for October 7-11. This is the week that the Santa Clara community will celebrate the Inauguration of our 29th President, Kevin O’Brien, S.J. • Remember that Santa Clara has many resources to assist all students, including academic and personal support. You will find a handy list of contact numbers towards the end of the booklet to connect you with these re- sources. Best wishes as you begin your Santa Clara experience. Go Broncos!
