The huge volume of material we have received (1,120 lots) means we will again be running this live Online Only Sale over 2 nights! OS 13 is comprised of an excellent assortment of interesting and rare items from over 40 vendors (with sev- eral Estates). There are several good sized collections on offer, along with some excellent value rarities and a few high quality previously unsold lots (and one un-financial buyer’s re-runs – mostly small lots, mostly unreserved as per our Terms and Conditions). Highlights include a superb Proof 1938 Crown Pr 63, the highest graded with lovely fields and one of the finest known. Other fantastic highlights include a Type 12 Kookaburra Penny, a Proof 1934 Florin graded Pr 65+, a full set of PCGS graded Perth Copper proofs, an extremely well priced 1930 Penny starting at $14,000 and an aUNC USA $5 gold Half Eagle 1813. Other items of note include a number of Proof Halfpennies, with issues on offer from 1946, 1950, and 1954. Some nice gold includes two lovely coins – an 1858 and 1886M Half Sovereign in high grade. There are also 28 Pre Federation banknotes, from promissory, to issued and specimen notes, including rare 50 and 100 Pound issues. There are a tonne of good Pre Decimal Banknotes from low priced issues up to rarities, a Hay Internment Camps 6d, a number of Starnotes, a large selection of Decimal notes including a lovely full set of pairs and much more. Other items of note include World and GB issues, Perth and RAM Mint products, a large selection of mis-strikes including a Mule Perth Mint silver 1 Oz, along with a huge selection of Pre Decimal Copper and Silver (including lots of PCGS), NPA and so much more! The recent collapse of Mossgreen auctions again serves to highlight just how difficult it can be to be successful in the auction game, even with the high commission rates that they were charging. Whilst this won’t really impact the Numismatic market, we have heard from many of their unlucky vendors, some of whom even have to pay exorbitant fees to the administrators just to get their own items back! Queensland incidentally has the strictest Trust Account laws in the country, and these have been further tightened recently, meaning anyone who consigns with us is 100% safe, as their funds are protected at all times by our strict Qld specific Auction and Trust Account laws and procedures. Our recent slight increase in buyers premium is a reflection of just how much our operating costs have gone up (we estimate by 30% over the last 5 years). We are still the ONLY Auction house to charge NO Sellers Commissions! We have extended our insurance policy to cover eve- rything sent over $200 in value due to the recent loss of several parcels by Australia Post.
