    COLE CUSTER Gearing Up for Michigan Doubleheader KANNAPOLIS, North Carolina (Aug. 4, 2020) – This weekend, Cole Custer, driver of the No. 41 HaasTooling.com/Jacob Construction Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) and his fellow NASCAR Cup Series competitors head to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn for a doubleheader at the 2-mile track. The world’s best stock car drivers are scheduled to complete over 600 miles combined Saturday and Sunday in the backyard of manufacturer Ford, which is located approximately 65 miles northeast of the track in Dearborn. HaasTooling.com will share the No. 41 machine this weekend with Jacob Construction. Jacob adorned Custer’s Ford Mustang earlier this season at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. Jacob is a multifaceted firm with a focus on construction, development, design and technology services. Jacob provides clients with a wide range of services in the design build and construction management sectors of the construction industry. In conjunction with these services, Jacob self performs structural concrete, architectural and structural precast erection. So far this season, the Mustang has earned 11 wins for Ford. Custer and his SHR teammate Kevin Harvick have both earned wins for the Blue Oval this season. A win this weekend would be huge for Ford and SHR. Not only because it’s close to Ford headquarters, but this weekend’s events have a unique trophy. The Michigan Heritage Trophy was created in 2013 and is awarded to the winning manufacturer of each race. Custer heads into this weekend coming off of an eighth-place finish in last Sunday’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.

    MIKE SHIPLETT: Crew Chief, No. 41 Ford Mustang Birthdate: May 17, 1972 Birthplace: Amherst, Ohio Hometown: Amherst, Ohio Residence: Denver, North Carolina Spouse: Brooke When Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) promoted Cole Custer from its NASCAR Xfinity Series team to its flagship NASCAR Cup Series program for 2020, crew chief Mike Shiplett earned a promotion too. Shiplett has been a crew chief for more than 300 races across the Xfinity Series and Cup Series, and it was his 2019 season with Custer that proved to be his most productive. In Shiplett’s first year at SHR, he guided Custer to a career-high seven wins and six poles, with 17 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes and a total of 922 laps led. It was a breakout year for Custer, who entered 2019 after consecutive single-win seasons in 2017 and 2018. Shiplett came to SHR from Chip Ganassi Racing, where in 2018 he earned six Xfinity Series wins, steering Kyle Larson to four victories and a win apiece for Ross Chastain and John Hunter Nemechek. It was a standout year for the veteran crew chief, but it ended up being short lived when Ganassi’s Xfinity Series team was unexpectedly shut down before 2019 even began. But as the door to Ganassi closed, another opened at SHR, whereupon Shiplett’s pairing with Custer delivered almost immediately. The duo scored the first of their seven victories in just the third race of the season at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.     Skuttle Tight Supports NASCAR Driver Sprint Cup Driver Takes Skuttle Tight Ford to Richmond Charity Event and Returns to Midwest Tour Event in Skuttle Tight Ford Willmar, MN (April 18, 2013) Skuttle Tight is excited to announce it has once again teamed up with NASCAR driver David Ragan. David Ragan will hit the track a day early during NASCAR’s race week at Richmond VA International Raceway. The driver of the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford will bring his own No. 77 Skuttle Tight Ford to the three-quarter mile track for the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown on Thursday, April 25. The 75-lap event serves as a fundraiser for the Denny Hamlin Cystic Fibrosis Research Lab at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and will be run the day before track activity begins for the Sprint Cup Series race. The race typically features about a dozen NASCAR drivers battling some of the best local stock car driver’s on Richmond’s ¾-mile oval. Fans can purchase tickets for the event on www.rir.com. He is also scheduled to run a third race, the ARCA Fest at the Milwaukee Mile, on July 9. David will enter the popular Midwest Tour-sanctioned race in his No. 77 Skuttle Tight Ford. It will be the second consecutive year that Ragan will participate in the Swiss Colony Howie Lettow Memorial 150 presented by raceteamgear.com. The two-day ARCA Fest benefits the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) and will include a concert by Southern rock band .38 Special after the practice sessions on July 8.
