Connor Barwin joined the Eagles’ front office as the special assis- CAREER TIMELINE tant to the general manager during the 2020 offseason following a 10- year NFL career (2009-18), which included four seasons in Philadelphia Years Team Position (2013-16). Originally selected by the in the second round (46th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft, Barwin played in 142 career regu- lar-season games (112 starts) and registered 56.5 sacks. After spending his first four seasons with Houston (2009-12), Bar- win signed with the Eagles during the 2013 offseason. He started all 65 games (regular season and playoffs) in which he played and recorded 31.5 sacks during his time in Philadelphia. In 2014, Barwin earned and All-Pro honors after leading the NFC with 14.5 sacks. Following his tenure with the Eagles, Barwin spent time playing for the (2017) and (2018). Barwin’s impact on the Greater Philadelphia region, along with his popularity among Eagles fans, extends far beyond his accomplishments on the football field. Founded by Barwin in 2013, his Make the World Better (MTWB) Foundation works with communities to play and imple- ment urban revitalization projects with a focus on youth engagement, stewardship building, green infrastructure and public art. By hosting a variety of benefit concerts among other charitable ventures, Barwin and MTWB have raised nearly $1 million, which has gone on to directly fund neighborhood revitalization projects in Philadelphia. Redevelopment projects have included Vare Recreation Center in Grays Ferry, Waterloo Playground in Northwest Philadelphia, Smith Playground in South Phila- delphia and Ralph Brooks Park in Point Breeze. A native of Detroit, MI, Barwin was a first-team All-America and All- Big East Conference selection at the University of Cincinnati, where he registered 12.0 sacks – third-best in program history for a single season – as a senior in 2008. Barwin resides in Philadelphia, PA, with his wife, Laura, and their son, West.
