Se hace énfasis en el desarrollo de destrezas en el cuidado de enfermería en la especialidad que el estudiante seleccione, con aprobación de su profesor. Permite al estudiante escoger un área específica para aumentar sus destrezas clínicas y aplicar pensamiento crítico en el uso de diagnósticos de enfermería según la Asociación Norteamericana de Diagnósticos de Enfermería (NANDA, NIC y NOC). El estudiante tiene la oportunidad de practicar una relación patronal y desarrollar destrezas como líder. Además de la práctica clínica, el grupo se reúne dos horas semanales para discutir asuntos relevantes a esta etapa de su desarrollo profesional. Objetivos generales de contenido Al finalizar el curso, el estudiante será capaz de: 1. Demostrar haber logrado los siguientes elementos esenciales de educación a nivel de bachillerato para la práctica de enfermería profesional de acuerdo al AACN: a. La inclusión de cursos en educación liberal es una piedra angular en la educación y práctica de la profesión de enfermería. b. Conocimiento y destrezas de liderazgo, mejora en la calidad y seguridad del paciente son necesarios para poder proveer un cuidado de salud de alta calidad. c. La práctica del profesional de enfermería está fundamentada en una traducción pragmática de la evidencia reciente. Revised January 5, 2015 NURS 406 PRACTICUM 6 d. Los conocimientos y destrezas en el manejo de la información y de la tecnología en el cuidado del paciente son elementos críticos en la provisión de cuidado de calidad. e. Las políticas relacionadas con los cuidados de salud, incluyendo las financieras y regulatorias, directa e indirectamente ejercen influencia en la naturaleza y el funcionamiento de los sistemas de salud y, por ende, son consideraciones importantes en la práctica de enfermería profesional. f. La comunicación y colaboración entre los profesionales de la salud son elementos críticos en la prestación de un cuidado al paciente seguro y de alta calidad. g. Promoción de la salud y prevención de las enfermedades a niveles individual de población son necesarios para mejorar la salud en las poblaciones son componentes importantes en la educación profesional del practicante de enfermería a nivel de bachillerato. h. El profesionalismo y sus valores inherentes de altruismo, autonomía, dignidad humana, integridad y justicia social son fundamentales para la disciplina de enfermería. i. El enfermero graduado a nivel de bachillerato está preparado para ejercer su práctica con pacientes, incluyendo individuos, familias, grupos, comunidades y poblaciones a través del ciclo de vida y en el continuo de atención de servicios de salud en diferentes entornos. j. El enfermero graduado a nivel de bachillerato comprende y respeta las variaciones en el cuidado de salud, la acelerada complejidad de servicios y el aumento en el uso de los recursos de salud inherentes en el cuidado al paciente. Revised January 5, 2015 NURS 406 PRACTICUM 7 Objetivos generales de lenguaje Al finalizar el curso, el estudiante será capaz de: Escuchar: Comprender discursos orales, en inglés/español, y reconocer sus diversas finalidades y las situaciones de comunicación en que se producen; compartir, comparar y desarrollar ideas nuevas acerca de la práctica de enfermería de manera colaborativa; adquirir aprendizaje significativos, basados en la experiencia y en temas motivadores; responder a estímulos auditivos tales como vídeos, presentaciones audiovisuales y actividades interactivas. Hablar: Expresarse oralmente, en inglés/español, con propiedad y corrección, de acuerdo con las diversas finalidades y situaciones comunicativas y adoptando un estilo expresivo propio; analizar, opinar y comunicar oralmente puntos de vista e ideas; desarrollar habilidades y competencias que lo capaciten para su vida académica, laboral y cotidiana; utilizar el lenguaje para adquirir conocimientos nuevos acerca de la práctica de enfermería y para aprender a utilizar técnicas sencillas de manejo de la información a través de los medios tradicionales y la tecnología informática.
