Locster Juniors Played Cricket on Consecutive Days. F
Two games in two days! [posted 12/09/09] After what seemed like ages the 'Locster juniors played cricket on consecutive days. Firstly lets say a big thanks to Matty Coyle who somehow managed to prepare two decks whilst also preparing for the big T20 Finals Day - now that's multi-tasking! Good effort sir! And also thanks to others who helped out in ground prep' - NJ , Muscles and Pasty being key pairs of hands in this regards, as was Toko . To the matches. Friday saw the 13s romp to victory over Greenock in the youngsters' final league match. And what a difference a week makes. The week before, the guys had struggled against Greenock in a match abandoned at halfway. This time tho' it was the other way round. Greenock batted first and could muster only 32 all out as Saify grabbed 5 for 2,.....yes five wickets for two runs! Extraordinary! The other wicket-takers were Huss' , Haider and Saad, in other words all four bowlers needed. And a mention, too, for a great outfield grab by Mr Khaliq at mid off. Well held sir! And another tidy stumping by Armour the Jnr . 32 all out inside twelve overs. Surely the 'Locsters would chase 33 to win? Correct. But don't call me Shirley I hear you say. 33 for 1 inside six overs was the reply - convincing methinks. Yash finished unbeaten after opening with Rosco - the latter being the only victim in the innings, stumped by Neil Flack in a tidy piece of work behind the sticks. -

ANNUAL REPORT 2015 2 Welcome to Cricket Scotland’s Annual Report for 2015. It was a year of significant success for our performance teams and of good progress in the participation activities supporting our clubs and the growth of the game. In addition organisational changes have been put in place to enable Cricket Scotland itself to better fulfil its role as the governing body for cricket in Scotland. The individual sections below give more details of the major activities in those areas. There are however three aspects from those which deserve special focus. Firstly, there was the success in 2015 of the national and U19 teams in qualifying for the ICC World Twenty20 and U19 World Cup respectively and of the women’s national team in participating, for the first time, in the Qualifying Tournament of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20. And secondly, there was the increased emphasis within Cricket Scotland on participation activities in the last year, partly through the work done with the Sports Marketing Network to help our clubs look at what they do and how they do it with a view to creating more robust, long term foundations for club sustainability, Lastly, operationally Cricket Scotland delivered a highly successful ICC World Twenty20 qualifying tournament in conjunction with Cricket Ireland. It is easy to underestimate how much work such an undertaking requires and we were very proud to be so warmly congratulated by the ICC on the success of what we had done and how we had done it. The Cricket Scotland Operations team and the many volunteers from the Scottish cricketing community who played such a crucial part must all be thanked and congratulated on a fantastic achievement. -
T Known Beforehand but Monday's Final Junior Match Was, in Fact, the 18S Chance to Share the League Title
18s close out season '08 with a win,.....and a title! it wasn't known beforehand but monday's final junior match was, in fact, the 18s chance to share the league title. motherwell rocked up and, playing their first game in weeks due to horrible weather, won the toss and chose to bowl. the 'loc - aware of the conditions - wanted to get off to a fast start. and so dani' and scotty were despatched to the middle. in a game ultimately reduced to fifteen overs-a-side the 'locsters would post 106 for the loss of just four wickets. no-one really starred, but all the batters chipped in. scotty went first playing a shocker of a shot that skied above the 'keeper's head. easy catch? it was for the 'keeper,.....but wasn't for bowler peter keay who eventually took it after running 22 yards to grab it! strange. dani' then followed after putting on 42 with big bruv' bil'y . he, too, played a terrible shot and was dismissed courtesy of a good catch by sub' fielder aamir kayani! tee, hee. bil'y and nj then added a few, both getting 20s, but both getting dismissed. this left shorty three balls to face: 4, 2, 1 leaving him 7* when "time" was called. the motherwell reply never really got going. that is, after skipper keay was dismissed after a quick-fire 9. this'd be the top score as his younger teammates found batting difficult, on a tricky deck, in fading light. hardly the ideal combination! in the end motherwell mustered just 23 and the win was the 'loc 's. -
