Winners of the Eco-awards Program Phase 2 are Identified

BP and CTC will be hosting the award ceremony within the Eco-awards Program.

The program is initiated and funded by BP, on behalf of its Co-venturers in the Baku-- Ceyhan oil and the South Caucasus gas Pipeline projects, and in partnership with the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of and is designed to reward those individuals and organizations involved in promoting environmental awareness and its more effective protection. The program is implemented by the Centre for Trainings and Consultancy.

Within the first phase of the program 3 environmental projects have been financed. Within the second phase of the program 4 winner organizations have been identified:

• Black Sea Eco-Academy - for the Project "Providing sustainable income through the development of eco-tourism for the communities supporting National Parks" • Green regions - for the project "maintenance of forests of Upper mountain and energy efficient technologies" • Nacres - for the Project "Introduction and Promotion of Forest Multifunctional Use in Borjomi Municipality" • Women for the Future of the Country - Project "Alternative Energy Sources and its Influence on Local Community Development"

The event will be attended by representatives of BP, CTC, Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, participants of the competition, representatives of the winning organizations and other stakeholders.
