He has compiled a long list of accomplishments and signature wins in his first four seasons in his current role at Cal, leading the Golden Bears to back-to-back winning seasons and bowl games in 2018 and 2019 for the first time since 2008 and 2009, knocking off the reigning Pac- 12 champion each of the past three seasons with victories on the road at USC in 2018 and Washington in 2019 before beating Oregon at home in 2020. His teams have also produced victories over all five schools in the Pac-12 North and been victorious in road games at all three of the Bears’ Pac-12 Cali- fornia opponents, ending droughts that dated back to 2000 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and 2009 at both the Rose Bowl and Stanford Stadium.
