You already know the basics of middle school, but you still have another year until you get to high school. I think of it as the year of improvement because you are not really distracted by anything like you are in 6th and 8th grade. My favorite part of 7th grade is hard to determine because it was pretty good in all. I think that my favorite part was getting to know my teachers so well that they knew what I was going to say before I ask them. Like some days I will go to ask Mr. Katzoff something and he will answer my question before I even get to ask it. If he had not given me this opportunity to help with the newsletter then I may not have gotten the same experience out of 7th grade. For that I am grateful to have the teachers that I do and for them to be able to teach me to the best of their ability. If I didn’t have that opportunity this year then I may not have been the person that I am. By: Olivia Montuore My favorite part of 7th grade was a project we did in Social Studies. The idea of this project was to research an event leading up to the revolutionary war and having to prove that it was one of the reasons we fought for our country's rights. The reason I liked this project so much was because I had a really good partner that made the project fun to do, it was very interesting. We got to make a trifold. I liked making the trifold because we got to put as much decoration on it as we liked, so my partner and I made it as big and unique as we could. Seventh grade was a great fun year, I am so glad that I was able to make the friends that I have and meet the teachers I have met. By: Makenna Lindert One of my favorite things about 7th grade is that it’s the first year that you are allowed to try out for sports. LVMS has a lot of amazing sports to choose from like soccer, basketball and field hockey! When tryouts come, for whatever sport you like to play, it’s really nerve racking. But, when you finally see your name on that list, it’s the best feeling in the world! I liked soccer season the most because it’s my favorite sport. I really liked being on my school team because it let me branch out from my own grade and interact with some eighth graders that have the same interests that I do. A lot of the girls are really nice too! The coaches are great as well because they give you great advice and help you become a better athlete. My soccer coach, Mr. Demarest, and my basketball coach, Mr. Petty, were a lot of fun to practice with. Overall, the entire environment of playing on a sports team for your school, with another grade and with fun coaches is so enjoyable. For me, playing on a sports team was definitely the best experience in seventh grade. By: Kacy Smith Have you ever had two different teachers for the same class? I have, in the span of only one school year. Having two teachers can be a good or bad experience. For me it was a good one because I got to meet two wonderful teachers with different personalities but similar teaching styles, which made the transition just that little bit easier. The transition was still hard because we had to introduce ourselves and eat to know our “new” teacher for the remainder of the year.
