Official Programme Greetings from Len and Fin President Paolo Barelli OFFICIAL PROGRAMME GREETINGS FROM LEN AND FIN PRESIDENT PAOLO BARELLI Personally and on behalf of the Ligue Européenne the Natation and the Italian Swimming Federation, I express my warmest greetings to athletes, coaches, staff members, managers, referees and delegates who will participate at the European Synchronised Swimming Champions Cup in Cuneo from 5 to 7 May 2016. The Champions Cup is the second continental event among those organized by LEN after the European Championships and one of the last test events before the World Championships to be held in Budapest from 14 to 22 July 2017. We are proud that the Stadio del Nuoto of Cuneo will be the scenario of an event of such international value with 15 Nations participants and more than 140 athletes. The warmest thanks to the City of Cuneo and Centro Sportivo Roero, for the heavy commitment to organize this Event together with the Italian Swimming Federation and the Ligue Européenne the Natation. The Swimming Stadium was built ex novo, and includes the new pool, input building system, and locker room. Overall 6350 mq of new construction. Inside, it houses the new indoor pool with 8 lanes – 51,50 x 21 mt, depth from 1,20 mt to 2,30 mt – provided with two fixed heads and a draw-bridge, the tribune for the public with capacity until 616 persons, and and a cafeteria that overlooks the pool . The stadium has multiple entrances, with different levels. In particular it is possible to access at the structure from one place in front of the urban elevator. From this entrance you can reach the Desk of the Stadium with a spectacular staircase or by means of an elevator that guarantees accessibility. The other entrances are normally accessible from parking areas. The large windows overlooking the Alps gives this pool a unique light. Over the last three years the Swimming Stadium of Cuneo hosted for two consecutive years the Italian Championships in Synchronized swimming, with ever sold out spectator stands.
