Project Manager/ Analyst

Location: Canary Wharf, London Reports to: Head of Corporate Business Support and Development Grade: C

Job purpose The post-holder will be part of a small, agile team working collaboratively and alongside colleagues across the organisation, supporting the identification, development and implementation of changes to business systems and processes in pursuit of the organisation’s strategic priorities. Providing internal business consultancy across the organisation, this role will be varied and flexible in nature providing an opportunity to use different business improvement techniques, modes of delivery and good people skills, to act a catalyst for change.

Main accountabilities • Responsible for of projects, including tracking and reporting progress, identification of resources and skills required, monitoring budget, implementation of proportionate project controls and making recommendations regarding changes to specification, budget and schedules. • Work with colleagues to help scope work, prioritise deliverables, identify dependencies and ensure that any risks and issues relating to programme and project delivery are identified and recommend action to lessen these risks, escalating any issues to key stakeholders. • Use experience and and/or re-engineering skills to work with managers, business leads and other stakeholders to document and evaluate business processes, systems and workflows, providing advice and constructive challenge to identify potential improvements and efficiencies, and to help drive forward the implementation of improvement plans. • Support an increased organisational capability to measure the impact and benefits of business change, using relevant data in a curious, confident and capable way. • As part of technology initiatives: – Work with stakeholders across the organisation and related third parties using a variety of techniques to identify requirements and produce subsequent documentation, whilst supporting communications between the technical and business teams. – Analyse and quality assure technical documentation and requirements on behalf of business teams.

Job description Page 1 of 2 – Facilitate and support user acceptance testing, ensuring that the scope, approach, timing and any subsequent results from the testing are actively managed. • Support knowledge transfer and training, including the drafting of documents and guides, as part of change initiatives. • In undertaking work on projects and other activities, make sure that relevant documentation is complete, current and appropriately stored. • Facilitate the development of business cases which are well structured and inform decision making regarding future initiatives. • Assist in promoting the work of the team and the skills within it, as well as supporting colleagues in all aspects of the team’s work as necessary according to business needs. • Be able to support wider business planning activities, as required.

Project management course certified, for instance: Prince2, Agile, and so ☒ ☐ on. Experience in applying and adapting methodologies, ☒ ☐ processes and practices for instance: Prince2, Agile, and so on., to scale and proportion. Experience in the identification, design and implementation of ☒ ☐ improvements to business processes and procedures, using recognised business improvement and/or re-engineering techniques, such as Lean and other relevant methodologies. Ability to produce business and functional requirements, ideally including ☒ ☐ the production and support of test plans. Able to prioritise tasks, work within deadlines, taking a pragmatic and ☒ ☐ considered approach to work, whilst paying close attention to detail. Good negotiation, problem solving and communication skills, building ☒ ☐ trust and empathy with colleagues and using appropriate styles and approaches, to constructively challenge existing thinking and processes to achieve positive outcomes. Data and technology curious, confident and capable - able to undertake ☒ ☐ work that is technical in nature.
