High-level Global Symposium Implementing effective financial literacy policies in a changing financial landscape INFORMATION NOTE 8-9 November 2017 New Delhi, India Schedule The Symposium will be held back-to-back with the 8th meeting of the Technical Committee of the International Network on Financial Education (INFE) and its working group and Advisory Board meetings (for INFE full members only) which will take place on 6 and 7 November. The information contained in this note covers all events. Information specific to each meeting will be sent separately to those concerned. Language The Symposium will be conducted in English. Meals and others Please indicate any special dietary requirements when registering. Lunch and coffee for all delegates will be provided during breaks on both days of the symposium. Social events All symposium participants are invited to a dinner hosted by the RBI from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. on Wednesday 8 November at the Leela Ambience Convention Hotel. Dress Code The dress code during the Symposium is business casual. Facilities at the venue will be available. Participants will be provided with the necessary information during registration Accommodation Accommodation must be reserved and paid for directly by delegates. The following list is a guide only. Please also note that a visa is required for most nationalities to enter India and it is strongly recommended that participants verify requirements with the embassy/consulate in his/her country. The organisers will send you a letter and appropriate documentation to provide with your application when your registration is confirmed. Visas for participants of Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons can be issued only after clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Therefore, online applications for visa must be made by such delegates at least 60 days in advance. Delegates are personally responsible for ensuring that they are in possession of the correct documentation prior to their departure. We cannot assist in procuring passports and visas. Please ensure that your international traveller’s insurance is valid and that coverage will be available in India for the duration of your stay. We do not accept responsibility for any consequences whatsoever from a delegate failing to ensure that he or she has complied with the necessary health, passport and visa requirements. 4 Getting there The hotel is located around 30-35 km from international and domestic terminals at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Taxi It is recommended that you take a taxi to the Leela Ambience Convention Hotel. Journey time is around 1 to 1.5 hours. Taxis can be reserved in the arrivals terminal. Metro The nearest metro station to the hotel is Karkarduma (Blue line). If you prefer to use the metro, follow the route below: 1. CURRENCY: The monetary unit of India is the Indian Rupees. All major credit cards are accepted in the city for trade transactions as well as local currency cash withdrawal at the ATM machines. It has two round 4 mm (0.157 inch) pins. 5 HEALTH CARE AND VACCINATIONS: Sufferers of dust or pollen allergies should carry proper medicines when travelling to Delhi.
