This change would go into effect January of 2022. Another proposal (Rep. Gray’s HJR 28) would amend the Constitution to state that any member of the General Assembly would be allowed to serve no more than 16 total years in the House and/or Senate, but would be allowed to serve any portion of those years in either chamber.
