seed was planted last winter, which led to one of the most Aepic journeys of my life. What is now called the “Tour of Champions” once was an idea put forth for several reasons; the first being a sort of “boot camp on bikes”, the second “team bonding” and last but not least an iconic transfer of the annual World Cup in to the new World

OUTDOOR Cup venue and future Olympic slope in Whistler. An idea that I was always excited and inspired by (minus the weekly panic attacks) turned into a bigger experience than I anticipated. Our journey on road bikes started amidst a snowstorm in Lake Louise, quite fitting really, and carried us over the Columbia Icefields to Jasper. We headed south at that point towards Valemont, Blue River and on to Kamloops. The final leg of the journey took us from Kamloops, through Cache Creek, Lillooet and onto Whistler. The tour took a total of 10 days, which included 8 days of Photo by riding. Part of the goal was to bring Guy Napert-Frenette awareness to our sport and to the Alpine Canada Alpin Olympics, and involve communities and sport along the way. and it was interesting and challenging the finish line?
