There have been recent statements in the Monitor and The BG News which suggest that research has <^M/ been, and is, bad for Bowling Green State University. One member of the Board of Trustees stated that pre- vious attempts to increase research has cost the University money, has reduced the quality of under- graduate education and is the cause of the recent decline in undergraduate enrollment.
