# RESPONSES DATE 1 Safety issues: related to Park rules in the park/trail brochure. Brochure states that these rules 2/26/2020 1:59 PM apply to both parks + trails: 1) Bikers yield to hikers 2) Dogs must be on lease

2 Thanks for all your hard work done over the years - we hope you will work closely w/ naturalist 2/26/2020 1:55 PM to protect nature plants + wildlife habitats + deal w/ invasive species etc

3 Trails safe for hikers & free of noise of human vehicles like bikes 2/26/2020 1:53 PM

4 I'd like the parks dept to look into the long term effects on the environment that multiuse trails 2/26/2020 1:46 PM make over time.

5 I have worked in private education my entire life. We rely heavily on volunteer hours to keep 2/26/2020 1:43 PM these small schools operating. It is imperative to welcome people w/ questions and concerns about the organization because incorporating those ideas into the planning leads to those same people becoming your active volunteers -Board members, friends of the parks, etc.

6 Ideas & activities to keep parks clean. Mirrors to help hazardous corners safer when driving. 2/26/2020 1:36 PM

7 The fitness center is a valuable addition to E.S. 2/26/2020 1:34 PM

8 I think areas for sports are fine, but too much of that (ball fields, bike trails, etc) takes away from 1/31/2020 4:39 PM the natural beauty and limits the use of the park for others.

9 New and Clean restrooms, improved signs on trails at Lake Leatherwood 1/31/2020 12:56 PM

10 I love the trail system. Need more in town mountain bike trails and easy trails out at 1/30/2020 9:40 PM leatherwood for kids

11 The community needs a public pool and additional in town, well maintained and walking 1/30/2020 6:44 PM trails with better maps of how they connect to downtown

12 As a 35 year resident of the Eureka Springs historic district, I am opposed to the proposed new 1/30/2020 3:02 PM bicycle/hiking trails through the our historic district neighborhoods! These trails would compromise the safety of our Eureka Springs historic district residents by allowing hidden off street access to our homes and yards. They would also impose on the privacy as well as the peace and quiet of our historic district neighborhoods; in addition to disturbing and disrupting the fora and fauna of the much needed green spaces that have been set aside. I have nothing against bicycles and their riders, but I am against the Eureka Springs Parks Dept. compromising the safety and privacy of the Eureka Springs residents by trying to turn our historic district neighborhoods into an Disneyland for tourists! Barbara Kellogg

13 Repair the picnic pavilion and bathhouses at lake leatherwood. Improve the plantings and 1/30/2020 2:08 PM flowers at the entrance to town and the in town springs parks. Clean and spruce up Basin Springs park. It looks tired and run down.

14 repair fountain in basin park so water flows again. enforce no smoking in parks and add cig 1/28/2020 10:16 PM urns

15 Mountain bike trails would be my first choice, but wasn’t listed above. 1/24/2020 11:24 PM

16 I to Eureka Springs at least 12 times a year to ride Mountain Bikes at Lake Leatherwood 1/23/2020 5:01 PM and Passion Play. I have been considering moving to the area because of the trails.

17 More downhill mountain bike trails! 1/22/2020 7:25 AM

18 has been an amazing addition to the beautiful city of Eureka Springs! 1/21/2020 9:15 PM

19 I would like to see more mountain biking trails and have existing trails improved. I would also 1/21/2020 7:31 PM like to see more signage dedicated to how mountain bikers and non mountain bikers can share these spaces.

20 Love the mountain bike trails in the town. Would love to see more trails and places to ride. 1/21/2020 10:13 AM Would give me more reasons to visit more often.

21 I moved across the country for the mountain biking here. Keep up the great work! 1/21/2020 9:39 AM

22 More mountain bike trails, great for health and money from visitors 1/21/2020 9:20 AM

23 The Ozarks are a destination for mountain bike riders. Maintaining, improving, and growing 1/21/2020 8:53 AM

2 / 10 Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission Master Plan Survey SurveyMonkey

trails should be a goal of the Parks Dept.

24 I understand that the recent growth and mountain biking in Northwest Arkansas has caused 1/21/2020 8:17 AM numerous issues to be raised with shared spaces. I think that all these issues can be overcome, and then we can live peacefully while maintaining green space within the city limits of Eureka. I grew up 30 minutes from Eureka, and traveled there constantly as a child. I marveled at the natural wonders in the streetscapes the mountain town, and as an avid mountain biker I also want to protect these beautiful spaces and access for folks who enjoy the outdoors on two wheels.

25 N/a 1/21/2020 8:15 AM

26 Questions 15 and 16 exclude Mountain Bike Trails. These are a gem and the main reason my 1/21/2020 8:14 AM friends and Family come to the area. We have been camping and mountain biking leatherwood for 12 + years. By far the most important amenity offered.

27 Mountain biking is a BOOMING industry/activity. E.S. needs to ensure this activity stays at the 1/21/2020 6:02 AM top of your list. It brings in MANY dollars and tourism. Located so close to NWA is a big asset for E.S. The town is getting very run down and nasty looking. There's "quaint" and then there's "fossilized obsolescence". Upgrade and take advantage of MTB dollars that can really help E.S. improve it's appearance instead of its current downward trajectory into tackiness.

28 When I come to Eureka Springs to mountain bike we typically visit the local restaurants and 1/20/2020 11:13 PM hotels. Without the trails I likely wouldn't come to eureka springs.

29 I love the trails in and near Eureka Springs, drive over from Fayetteville for a good mountain 1/20/2020 11:02 PM bike ride and a bite to eat.

30 The main reason we come to Eureka is to mountain bike. The shuttles could use some nicer 1/20/2020 10:41 PM trailers that were easier to use. It would also help if there was more parking close to the shuttle stop.

31 I love the mountain biking you guys have! 1/20/2020 9:39 PM

32 We come to Eureka for Mountain Biking 1/20/2020 9:36 PM

33 Trails for mtb 1/20/2020 9:21 PM

34 Questions 15 and 16 notably lack mention of mountain biking. I have been to eureka springs 4 1/20/2020 9:14 PM times in the past 6 months, twice to the auditorium in downtown and once to ride the Passion play trails and once to ride the trails at lake leatherwood. I have stopped in town to have lunch each time. Mountain biking is the main draw for me to eureka springs.

35 Better camping and bathroom/shower facilities 1/20/2020 9:14 PM

36 Trail building and maintenance 1/20/2020 9:08 PM

37 Keeping trails open and opening more trails. For mountain bikers enjoy variety and changes of 1/20/2020 9:01 PM scenery.

38 Hiking and mountain biking bring people to our area and we should keep creating more trails 1/20/2020 9:00 PM

39 Improved facilities at leatherwood. 1/20/2020 8:47 PM

40 Q #16 I only choose 3 because it didn't include mountain bikes. I visit Eureka for MTB trails at 1/20/2020 8:37 PM Lake Leatherwood and Passion Play area. We always visit downtown for and shopping after our rides. Bentonville gets all the attention, but many riders I know prefer the trails in Eureka. During the rainy season, we like to visit Eureka after floating on the Kings River or Buffalo River. Parents live in Holiday Island so we visit Eureka Springs at least once a month, twice a month during summer.

41 Need mtb trails in town and connect them to leatherwood so we don’t have to drive. Create the 1/20/2020 8:25 PM trail hub at the community center.

42 More parking may be needed by the bike shuttle pick up! 1/20/2020 8:22 PM

43 Eureka Springs has always been my family's go to space in AR. 1/20/2020 8:17 PM

44 for questions 15 and 16, I would have selected the mountain bike trails if that were an optional 1/20/2020 8:14 PM "facility" in the list

3 / 10 Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission Master Plan Survey SurveyMonkey

45 I purchased a place just outside Eureka based on investment in mountain biking in the city. I 1/20/2020 8:08 PM eat, shop and visit Eureka

46 I travel from Birmingham Alabama just to ride the downhill trails at Lake Leatherwood City Park 1/20/2020 8:08 PM and have told many people they are my favorite trails in Arkansas.

47 Continue mountain bike trails 1/20/2020 8:01 PM

48 I love all the trail work that is going into Lake Leatherwood and Passion Play! It will keep me 1/20/2020 7:57 PM visiting Eureka Springs for mountain biking for many years to come.

49 Love coming for the culture and mountain biking 1/20/2020 7:54 PM

50 Mtn biking 1/20/2020 7:52 PM

51 Camping and mtbing bring me to lake leatherwood at least twice a year love that place but the 1/20/2020 7:42 PM showerhouse needs updated bad

52 Eureka Springs has done an absolutely amazing job with the mountain bike trails! Has made 1/20/2020 7:33 PM Eureka Springs our main getaway. We come from Kansas City to hear monthly.

53 Bring back off road triathlon to lake leatherwood. 1/20/2020 7:27 PM

54 Maintaining the facilities in the downtown, tourist area of town will probably be the most 1/20/2020 7:27 PM important long term. With the growth of Mountain Biking in NWA, advertising the facilities in Eureka, in conjunction with the other cities in NWA, could help increase tourism.

55 Well maintained mountain biking trails 1/20/2020 7:25 PM

56 More mountain biking 1/20/2020 7:18 PM

57 I only visit eureka Springs to ride the amazing mountain bike trails. After breakfest lunch dinner 1/20/2020 7:13 PM and hotel, we typically spend $500 per weekend. I would never visit eureka springs if the mountain bike trails were not present.

58 Mountain bikes 1/20/2020 7:11 PM

59 Keep the mountain bike parks/trails maintained and growing. Five of us visited from MS last 1/20/2020 7:10 PM September and plan to come back this year.

60 More mountain biking trails 1/20/2020 7:02 PM

61 Please maintain the mountain biking trails. The only reason I visit Eureka Springs is because of 1/20/2020 7:01 PM the trails. I have been visiting since 2002 and there are plenty of trails around NWA that I can stay in and ride.

62 The enhanced bike trails are what keep me coming back to Eureka area 1/20/2020 6:54 PM

63 More mountain bike trails! 1/20/2020 6:49 PM

64 We enjoy coming to Eureka Springs in general, but honestly come for the mountain biking more 1/20/2020 6:47 PM than anything then of course stick around for food and the nightlife afterwards. We also enjoy hiking the trails when not mountain biking.

65 Last two questions didn’t include mountain biking. 1/20/2020 6:44 PM

66 Last question does not include mountain biking. Therefore I have lost interest in this survey 1/20/2020 6:40 PM

67 Mountain bike trails 1/20/2020 6:37 PM

68 My response for #15 and #16 is "Mountain biking" which wasn't listed. 1/20/2020 6:32 PM

69 Mtn biking is definitely most important to my family and everyone that I know personally. 1/20/2020 6:28 PM

70 You didn't list mountain bike trails as a facility type. That would be top for myself, my family, and 1/20/2020 6:18 PM the multitude of people I encourage to visit Eureka for the trails.

71 We love coming to Eureka Spring to ride our bikes on the trails before having dinner and 1/20/2020 6:05 PM shopping downtown. It’s a great workout/fun date.

72 I loved Eureka Springs. We visited from Dallas and really loved it. 1/20/2020 6:03 PM

73 Maintain all mountain bike trails. 1/20/2020 5:43 PM

4 / 10 Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission Master Plan Survey SurveyMonkey

74 Need to hire more people to maintain leatherwood DH trails or have multiple volunteer days. 1/20/2020 5:34 PM

75 You forgot MTB trails in the previous two questions. A favorite of mine. 1/20/2020 3:57 PM

76 Maintain historical structures at Lake Eureka Springs 1/20/2020 3:44 PM

77 Na 1/20/2020 3:29 PM

78 More mountain biking trails are needed. 1/20/2020 2:15 PM

79 The community center needs lots of love and $$. The hours are inaccessible for most of us who 1/12/2020 10:10 AM live and work here. What is the plan for the green house in the community center parking lot? Where are volunteer postings for the local parks?

80 More comprehensive trail system 1/10/2020 4:21 PM

81 None 1/10/2020 4:01 PM

82 Need nature center and marked nature trails at Leatherwood. Maintaining Springs Parks is 1/1/2020 10:09 AM excellent.

83 Continue expanding our mountain bike And hiking trail network. Not only do trails provide 12/31/2019 6:02 AM fantastic recreation for locals and tourists, they also provide alternative means of transit for folks of all ages around town and promote a healthy lifestyle.

84 Blackbass lake is an amazing place and doesn’t get the help it needs! It either needs to be fixed 12/30/2019 5:54 PM or completely re-done! So many locals and non locals who love the place always comment how it’s been let go and they are sad to see it!

85 I like to ride my bike in the skatepark but it has been covered with leaves, branches, mud and 12/27/2019 10:50 AM water. I would like to see more maintenance on the skatepark.

86 Need hiker only trails. 12/26/2019 1:00 PM

87 Tailwater area Like Parker’s bottom 12/26/2019 12:21 PM

88 River fishing 12/26/2019 12:07 PM

89 Frisbee gulf areas would love one at the lake 9-18 hole would be great so members of the 12/26/2019 10:23 AM family can do other things when I play.

90 Please update existing facilities. Old facilities do not enhance tourism, nor do locals want to 12/26/2019 10:18 AM continue to use those that are old or outdated.

91 The oldest trails in the park need rehabbed and/or rerouted in areas. New single track would be 12/24/2019 12:29 PM nice in places at leatherwood where there’s a lot of land and no trails yet.

92 Need swimming pool for use year round. 12/24/2019 11:24 AM

93 More hiking trails and diversity of ecosystems that the Ozarks can offer! 12/23/2019 3:10 PM

94 Trails are the future of Eureka Springs 12/23/2019 2:40 PM

95 Outdoor Pickleball Courts 12/21/2019 6:31 PM

96 Very exciting to have bike trails all around the area. Would like to see more signage & maps of 12/19/2019 9:57 PM trails available as well as facilities close by (rest rooms).

97 Parks need more hiking only specific trails, with various levels of difficulty, not more biking trails. 12/12/2019 4:26 PM

98 I would love to see fishing be a bigger deal at the park. More , kayaks, and paddle 12/12/2019 1:46 PM boards. A frisby golf course would be an amazing addition. And lastly I would truly love to see a partnership with local horse stables to do horseback rides through the park in some fashion. This is all referring to lake leatherwood. Thank you.

99 Bird blind needs repair. Pot holes are starting to get bad. 12/12/2019 1:26 PM

100 I was raised in ES and raised my children here--now out of high school. Our kids have always 12/12/2019 8:41 AM been put last by our parks departments. So while these things aren't really of use to my family any longer, I still feel strongly about it. I have personally pulled weeds, picked up giant rocks, and laid sod at Leatherwood fields, and all kinds of other tasks because no one gave a crap. I was part of founding the youth sports association because, unlike every other city in America,

5 / 10 Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission Master Plan Survey SurveyMonkey

our parks department doesn't want anything to do with our kids. Yes, the new playgrounds are nice, but that's not all that's been lacking. I'm sure that won't change any time soon, but I wanted to add that. I chose basketball courts because for years and years my kids would have to drive to Berryville to play on their crappy courts over there if they all wanted to get together and play outside of school. I don't know that it's most important but something we definitely lack. And yes, now we are lucky to have the community center....but not everyone can afford that. I support what you're doing with the mountain bike trails 100%, I am thrilled that we are working with the Walton Foundation. I think Justin has done an amazing job. I hope that soon we are on the map as a top mountain biking destination! BUT let's not forget what a parks department is supposed to do. Let's not forget our parks & springs are something our visitors love and let's take care of them. I know it's hard to spread little dollars in all these different directions, but we need to take turns and not give it all to mountain biking.

101 Something needs to be done about the parrot feather plant that is taking over Lake 12/12/2019 8:25 AM Leatherwood. My family has a camping trip there every year for the last five years and it has consistently become worse.

102 Parks/recreational facilities should always be established with the family and seniors in mind. 12/10/2019 7:35 PM The city has done an admirable job.

103 Splash pad! If the tiny town of Seligman, MO can install a basic splash pad for it’s youngest 12/5/2019 9:12 PM residents and visitors ... Eureka Springs certainly can!

104 I think other shuttles should be allowed to run at lake leatherwood. 12/5/2019 12:17 PM

105 Leatherwood used to be my favorite place to camp and ride in NE Arkansas but the last several 12/5/2019 10:42 AM visits were very disappointing. I’m not a downhill rider so I feel like Miners rock trail is ruined by the downhill courses, the showers were terrible because they refuse to replace a $30 shower head, and the other campers don’t respect quiet hours and there is no one there to enforce them.

106 The Dam at Black Bass Lake needs to be repaired! . 11/29/2019 9:01 AM

107 A place for families and friends to gather, a beautiful peaceful place to visit, a place to connect 11/25/2019 7:49 PM with nature.

108 Whatever the future activities implemented throughout the parks area, most importantly for me 11/24/2019 9:17 PM and my family is that these activities be “quiet” and not motorized in anyway.

109 In questions #1,# 2, #8, #10, #11, #12, #13 and #16, your survey does not have an "Other" 11/24/2019 9:42 AM option that allows respondents to give different answers. City staff have apparently already decided what the "acceptable" answer options are for those questions. That is unimpressive and is why I didn't answer many of those questions because I will not participate in producing uselesss results. In #6 and #7, your survey talks about "services" and one answer option involves an "active living lifestyle". The in #8, it instead talks about "values" and not it is about "healthier" lifestyles. "Services" are not synonymous with "lifestyles," nor is "active" synonymous with "healthy," and the conflation of these terms in what are CLEARLY related questions is troubling. For #12, #13 and #14, "Open Green Space" is listed as an activity. Hmmm....sounds like someone has a political agenda, or perhaps they are just that dumb that the think that "Open Green Space" is an activity. Then under #15, "Open Green Space" is listed as a "type of recreational facility." Why is the respondent's age important to you? Shouldn't it just matter WHAT is being said as opposed to who is saying it? When people ask me about age, race, gender or income, I always give wrong answers just to mess with the results. This survey is as good as useless. It is not well designed, reeks of fake public involvement, and seems aimed at delivering outcomes predetermined by staff and others. Redo the survey, the results will truly be useless at it stands now. Thanks.

110 Expansion of soccer fields at Leatherwood ballfields and senior playground 11/22/2019 9:52 PM

111 Please keep lake leatherwood as natural as possible. The trees and animals and birds, the life 11/22/2019 9:29 AM that lives there is truly important and I have nowhere else to go to enjoy that. Just standing there in the early morning looking at the lake or Creek and listening to the birds and insects is priceless to me

112 I think I may have already answered this survey when I lived at Holiday Island. I read article in 11/21/2019 6:06 PM paper. If you want more survey completion, have volunteers at Hart's, Eureka Market on a couple of Saturdays. Encourage people to fill out on spot (thus requiring a table and chair) and if they are rushed for time, let them take it with a strong ask to return it as it is valuable to

6 / 10 Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission Master Plan Survey SurveyMonkey

decision making. If, by spring, you still do not have 10% input, then go to events at Basin Park or May Fine Arts events and do same. Also, if there is some giveaway, that always encourages folks to and will increase your %.

113 There currently seems to be an attitude of neglect toward the upkeep and beautification of the 11/21/2019 6:02 PM springs reserves in the city, in my opinion.

114 Please turn on the water at the parks. We get thirsty and see the fountains but there is no 11/21/2019 4:44 PM running water. I take kids to the parks and we need water.

115 Promote downhill biking 11/21/2019 12:35 PM

116 I would like to see them all connected with good trails. 11/21/2019 10:19 AM

117 Stop developing mountain bike trails. 11/21/2019 8:49 AM

118 Most important is to MAINTAIN the parks we have already established. Only after making the 11/21/2019 8:44 AM existing parks safe, clean and naturally pleasing should Parks spend money on new spaces.

119 Preservation of existing parks. Upgrading existing pedestrian trails - Beacham Trail and Fuller 11/21/2019 8:05 AM Trail needs gravel and erosion control.

120 Nope 11/21/2019 7:55 AM

121 We live in sacred ground and as such we hold a profound esponsibilty to protect the trees, 11/21/2019 7:19 AM rocks and waters. We are charged to maintain a natural environment for future generations. The Springs must be PROTECTED and restored to purity. Nothing is more important

122 Please have an affordable discount camping price for locals. Please create more hiking only 11/21/2019 12:24 AM trails and not so many extreme mountain biking trails.

123 Year round swimming pool like community pool in Berryville 11/21/2019 12:24 AM

124 Limit the cycling to one area of the park. Even though the rules state that bikes are supposed to 11/20/2019 9:42 PM yield to hikers, it is impossible in hilly terrain and hikers are forced off the trail to protect themselves. This is especially hard in heavy tick/chiggar season when hikers are trying to stay on the trail in the the tick/chiggar season.

125 We need bike repair/pump stations at trailheads. Also, more in town/connecting trails. A 11/20/2019 8:32 PM “bouldering”/ area would be a great asset to the outdoor sports roadmap

126 Try not to acquire more than can be maintained. Natural areas and tree planting are very 11/20/2019 6:48 PM important. In town, the band shell should be in frequent use on weekends as weather permits. Don't remove trees in Basin Park unless absolutely necessary

127 Maintain what we have 11/20/2019 4:47 PM

128 Need more cohesive volunteer program. If there is one I am not aware. I just do my part when 11/20/2019 4:29 PM someone brings my attention to it.

129 I feel the money should be spent where the need is greatest not even across the board. I alo 11/20/2019 3:57 PM feel that good maintenance of what we have is more important than adding additional property

130 I will contact a lawyer if a new bike trail is located anywhere near my property 11/20/2019 1:46 PM

131 Please fix/repair the picnic area at lake leatherwood, and restrooms. Plant flowers at the 11/20/2019 12:42 PM entrances to eureka like they use to be. And all the other springs parks.

132 Signs or ways to discourage littering and to dispose or recycle trash. Eliminate or 11/20/2019 12:32 PM control/discourage wild pigs

133 Parks should NOT entertain the idea of excluding certain user groups from trails because they 11/19/2019 8:22 AM enjoy nature at a different pace than others. A hiker's 15 seconds of "supposedly uncomfortable" interaction with a mountain biker on the trail SHOULD NOT precede others access to the trail. EUREKA is INCLUSIVE to ALL groups. Nature in a park setting is for EVERYONE. Period.

134 Maintain what you have before taking in new projects; keep Trails clear year-round, repair 11/18/2019 8:28 AM fences, equipment, etc. when needed.

135 Keep promoting it! 11/18/2019 8:06 AM

136 For question 14 was not sure some of these things were offered in the parks such as yoga 11/18/2019 7:46 AM outside, etc. Would be fun to see yoga in the park.

137 Downtown gardens need help. I would volunteer my services 10/8/2019 9:00 AM

138 Pavilion 10/8/2019 7:24 AM

139 Trails that connect downtown to Black Bass and Leatherwood. Pavilion at Leatherwood. 10/8/2019 7:16 AM

140 Add more bike trails 10/2/2019 7:03 AM

141 I was disappointed when 8 recently visited basin park and discovered the fountain gone. Such a 9/28/2019 8:33 AM beautiful landmark of Eureka springs and now gone. Perhaps replace?

142 As an avid mountain biker I'm a big fan of Leatherwood. It would be nice if the bath house could 9/24/2019 1:52 PM be updated specifically the showers and bathrooms.

143 no 9/23/2019 5:19 PM

144 MAINTAIN what we have; keep trails clear, fix damaged fencing, replace signage when needed, 9/23/2019 12:13 PM remove trash and graffiti

145 Na 9/23/2019 11:55 AM

146 I did not select an option in the prior two list because mountain bike riding was not included. I 9/23/2019 9:24 AM come to ES to ride the bike trails.

147 1. Review cost/benefit analysis for all and or any resources. 2. Focus on taking care of existing 9/23/2019 9:10 AM resources before developing more. 3. Develop inter departmental administrative position that focusses on Marketing, programming, fundraising and special events.

148 a new bridge over Leatherwood Creek on the Beacham trail so folks don't have to wade 9/22/2019 3:39 PM through the water.

149 Focus less on fads like mountain biking and maintain in town trails that residents enjoy. Plant 9/13/2019 10:10 PM more trees and maintain gardens in parks, their beauty is important to locals and tourists alike.

150 Take care of what we have and acquire more space. 9/13/2019 7:27 PM

151 Golfing. We always go golfing & have to drive out of town. We went golfing in Colorado this 9/13/2019 5:44 AM summer around Canon City - twice.

152 Create pedestrian only trails at Lake Leatherwood and Black Bass Lake. 9/12/2019 4:34 PM

153 My family and I love and use the Mountain Bike trails in Eureka. The downhill trail park was a 9/12/2019 1:53 PM terrific addition to the city park's system.

154 Preserve the natural areas where specimen and rare plants are growing. Preserve the natural 9/12/2019 1:13 PM areas where animals and reptiles have a habitat.

155 Wish there was a indoor community pool. We walk a lot downtown in loops on the Crescent 9/11/2019 9:36 PM trail, Magnolia trail etc. Sometimes areas get overgrown. Color coded trail markers & mile markers would be great.

156 Think the Park District does a good job and am impressed by the parks in E.S.and what they 9/11/2019 9:16 PM offer to the community. Hope the next step includes focusing more on natural habitats under their control - protecting rare species, controlling invasives etc.

157 I wish that Parks had all of the resources they needed to achieve their goals. In that, I wish 9/11/2019 8:35 PM there was a paid admission for Lake Leatherwood - like a yearly park pass. My family uses Lake Leatherwood hundreds of times a year and we would love to pay to park there... to help create more funding. We also REALLY want better internet in the park... there is no cell service at the ball fields or in other areas and we have been cutting back our hiking because of it. We worry that we could fall or get hurt and not be able to call out. All in all we are amazed at all the offerings available in such a small community. Thank you.

158 nobody likes to do maintenance, I get that but it has to be done. seems like we get all excited 9/11/2019 6:02 PM about a new item and don't think about how much maintenance it will need, like wise we have historic structures and modern structures that need repair. Over all I don't think parks should be in the business of promoting anything for tourism. just make the parks really nice for locals and the tourists will figure it out. I want to see parks think in a very long term way.

159 Please continue the development of various skill levels of mountain bike trails. 9/11/2019 3:30 PM

160 Kick Featherstone off and start over. The commission and administration need new fresh 9/11/2019 11:38 AM direction. It's worth it.

161 Create rock climbing area 9/11/2019 11:14 AM

162 Thanks. 9/11/2019 10:04 AM

163 I noticed work being done in Basin Park. Since I spend more time there than the other parks, 9/11/2019 9:15 AM I’m super happy about it!! I’ve noticed things looking run down lately. Maintenance & cleaning would definitely help!!

164 We don't need "more" until we can maintain and improve what we already have. 9/11/2019 8:55 AM

165 Please fix the dam at Black Bass!! :) 9/11/2019 8:49 AM

166 Quality and long term sustainability are essential elements of a sound park system. 9/11/2019 8:47 AM

167 N/a 9/11/2019 8:32 AM

168 Trails in town and an indoor swimming pool and water park! 9/10/2019 5:38 PM

169 Interconnected trail system to connect downtown with all parks. 9/10/2019 4:58 PM

170 I have a degree in sport management and can help with these decisions and planning. I have 9/10/2019 4:58 PM already thought about the softball/baseball facilities at Lake Leatherwood and in town. A coed league and a youth league aren’t so far fetched and can program that for you.

171 I think Eureka needs to stop spending money on master plans. When people think of a park they 9/10/2019 4:40 PM think of a place where they can go and kids can play. Think about a park when you were a child. Parks are basic equipment and let people bring what they need to make themselves happy in it. 9

172 I really prefer a natural experience / environment and do not like parks that are over developed 9/10/2019 3:45 PM with too many human built facilities that make it feel like you are in an urban setting. The beauty of Arkansas in its natural state should be remember and preserved. That includes trails that have a natural feel and are not over build, as well.

173 I'm against bike trails through our charming quiet historic district!!! 9/10/2019 2:41 PM

174 Keep points if interest clean and in good repair. 9/10/2019 2:04 PM

175 the flower garden at the entrance of town on main and 62 is looking weak. the public restrooms 9/10/2019 2:04 PM at lake leatherwood are a disaster. and fix the picnic pavilion at lake Leatherwood

176 Focus needs to be on education and safety. Understanding the natiral areas in our parks and 9/10/2019 11:56 AM how to be good patrons.

177 Poor budgeting 9/10/2019 11:25 AM

178 More bike park trails 9/10/2019 11:09 AM

179 Please fix the showers heads at Leatherwood. And if you are going to have fancy port-a-potties 9/10/2019 11:01 AM please empty them regularly.

180 More volunteer involvement to keep beautiful. I am not able to do a lot, but we need more 9/10/2019 8:47 AM volunteers and a sustainable volunteer network.

181 The dog park needs work, I've quit going in part due to its condition. I not just locals but 9/10/2019 7:35 AM visitors tok at the park. It was a nice benefit when I moved here. Good idea mentioned here, the open lawn / green space would be a great option for larger events (car shows, big picnics, family reunions, etc) and provide income to the dept.

182 Focus should be on what the residents of Eureka Springs want. Not the tourists. There need to 9/9/2019 11:25 PM be trails at Lake Leatherwood that are only for hikers. In town bike trails are not fair to residents who have bikers in their back yard.

183 Adequate parking 9/9/2019 8:06 PM

184 I have always loved the many gardens in and around Eureka. Would like to see more and also 9/9/2019 6:24 PM easy trails lined with native vegetation

185 Mountain Biking is/can support long term interest, tourism and growth for Eureka Springd 9/9/2019 5:11 PM

186 A splash park at Basin Park, Harmon park, or the Music Park would be a great way to enhance 9/9/2019 4:11 PM the parks system for families with children. You should also consider building satellite parks on/around East and West Mountain areas, such as on Pivot Rock Rd and East Mountain Rd.

187 Keeping grasses mowed & tidy, trees & bushes trimmed along paths. Trash picked up. 9/9/2019 2:50 PM

188 You all lose great parks workers simply by not paying them what they are worth. 9/9/2019 1:19 PM

189 Keep the outdoor trails natural and do not try to mimic Bentonville. Eureka needs to stand out. 9/9/2019 10:55 AM
