From the moment the new Committee took over at the AGM in May right through until the Annual Awards night in April, it has been all systems go. As a Committee we had very open and honest discussions about Langwarrin CC as a whole- what we do well, areas of improvement, opportunities that exist, and also threats to our club. From here we built 4 key focus areas for the season: 1) 60th Anniversary Celebration- I think everyone will agree it was one of the great weekends in the club’s history, and gave us the template for engaging past players and supporters 2) Sponsorship- An area that clearly needed to improve, both from incoming revenue and also our relationships with existing partners. While we still have a way to go, we have taken a big step forward in both facets. 3) Financial Stability- We have transparent and up to the minute records, allowing us to understand

MORNINGTON PENINSULA CRICKET ASSOCIATION UNDER 15’s United Kingdom Tour June 17th – July 7th 2006 Tour Report On arrival in London we stayed in the Grange Hotel in Kensington The Grange Hotel – Kensington. On the Underground going to Lords. The Lords Visit by Zac Brown On the second day of the tour, we visited the home of cricket “Lords”. At about 10:00 we all assembled down stairs and made our way to the train station. We caught the tube from Gloucester station to St Johns Wood. We then walked about 2 km to Lords, just missing the 12pm tour so we had to wait until 2pm. We found the Lords tavern bar and settled in. Most had lunch and my dad had his first English pint. While waiting, there was a county match on between Surrey and some one being televised which helped the time pass. At 1.30 we made our way to the museum. The gate fellow freaked out when we slipped down the gap in the stands and actually stood on the turf. He came racing down saying “I can’t believe it. You’re doing exactly what you’re not supposed to”. We looked through the museum. The dads with MCC memberships did the tour for free. It was the largest tour our guide had ever taken, believing it to be around 100 people. The museum was great. Exhibits from WG Grace, Bradman and of course the Ashes Earn. There were lots of pictures taken. It was funny locking at the old bats and seeing how far we’ve come none of the bats in the museum had graffite strips and also the sparrow killed by a ball bowled here in England.
