Mondiali Di Calcio in Qatar 2022 CANTIERE DI PROMOZIONE CULTURALE DELLA CSR Mondiali di calcio in Qatar 2022 Spettacolarità degli stadi e impatto ambientale. Il Qatar Quando si parla del Qatar il pensiero vola subito alle distese pianeggianti e desertiche e la visione si rafforza pensando alla ricca economia basata sullo sfruttamento dei giacimenti petroliferi così come gli altri Paesi limitrofi della Penisola Arabica. Trent'anni fa il Qatar era una terra desolata, abitata da pescatori di perle e contadini domati da eserciti d'imperi lontani. Oggi, il piccolo emirato è la dimostrazione che l’incredibile può essere reso reale dal denaro acquisito grazie ai doni del sottosuolo. Oltre il 40% degli abitanti vive nella capitale Doha, città che ha vissuto una repentina crescita in questi primi anni del XXI secolo. L'imponente flusso migratorio di inizio secolo per la grande richiesta di manodopera, soprattutto nel settore edile, ha fatto si che la percentuale di Qatariani sia scesa al 14% (attuale), i lavoratori stranieri sono in prevalenza Indiani, Nepalesi, Filippini e Bengalesi. La maggior parte delle costruzioni sono state indirizzate allo sviluppo turistico, investendo ingenti quantità di denaro, in special modo nell'edificazione di lussuosi hotel, resort e centri di divertimento vari. Anche se si possono trovare nel Paese diversi siti di discreto interesse storico, culturale o ambientale. La capitale Doha è tutta un cantiere. L'espansione urbana si estende impertinente nei territori della natura arida del deserto, retrostante il Golfo Persico. Un'isola artificiale di 400 ettari denominata, "la Perla", con le sue migliaia di appartamenti, di ville, d'imbarcazioni allineate nel porto turistico, è diventata la meta residenziale preferita per i manager, i tecnici economici stranieri, accorsi in questo nuovo Eldorado arabo. Anche l'elegante Museo di arte islamica, realizzato da I. M. Pei, l'architetto del Louvre, sorge in un isolotto artificiale collegato da un ponte alla terra ferma, per evitare che le sue linee geometriche essenziali venissero alterate dalla prossimità con altri edifici. 1 Ma il vero monumento al potere effettivo e immutabile del danaro è la città che sorge in una laguna chiamata "West Bay" mostrando il suo progresso e la sua ricchezza oltre ad essere estremamente affascinante al pari degli skyline delle città occidentali più suggestive. Ricchezza sottolineata dai consumi esasperati da simboli come le Rolls Royce personalizzate, la nuova passione dell'alta borghesia, che sfilano sui viali del quartiere diplomatico. La flotta da diporto che solca le acque del Golfo Persico è capitanata da yacht che raggiungono lunghezze di 135 metri. Il Qatar è una monarchia assoluta, ma la filosofia adottata dall'emiro, Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani in carica dal 1995 al 2013, si basa sul soft power, capacità di convincere ostentando un sorriso accattivante sotto i suoi baffetti, facendo intendere che il potere e il danaro non necessariamente debbano essere al servizio di cause sbagliate. Da qui la sua convinta adesione alle cause della Primavera araba, in Libia e in Siria, contro i regimi del passato. Anche l’attuale Emiro Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, figlio del suo predecessore, sembra perseguire tale pensiero. L'assegnazione dei mondiali di calcio Lo sviluppo incessante del territorio qatariano ha trovato un’ulteriore spinta grazie all’assegnazione dei Mondiali di Calcio del 2022. Molti interrogativi sorgono circa i preparativi del Qatar per ospitare la Coppa del Mondo nel 2022. Il campionato mondiale di calcio del 2022 o Coppa del mondo FIFA del 2022 sarà la 22° edizione del campionato mondiale di calcio per squadre nazionali maggiori maschili organizzato dalla FIFA. La Fifa è un mostro che muove ogni anno miliardi di dollari, per questo rappresenta un prestigio la sua assegnazione. L’organizzazione di un Mondiale significa per tutti un affare colossale da centinaia di milioni. 2 La Fifa fattura 1,4 miliardi l’anno, altrettanto conserva come riserve, e dai Mondiali arriva a guadagnarne tre/quattro volte tanto. Per mostrarsi al Mondo il Qatar ha in mente un progetto ambizioso di 12 stadi, dei quali nove da costruire di sana piana e tre da ristrutturare, che dovranno essere ad "emissioni zero", come la metropolitana leggera che servirà a collegare gli impianti e che da sola costerà 25 miliardi di dollari. Il Qatar non solo uno dei più grandi produttori di petrolio e di gas al mondo, ma anche attento e all'avanguardia nello studio delle energie alternative. È proprio sui principi di "ecologico" e "compatibile" che verte l’azione di progettazione e pianificazione dell’evento sportivo del 2022. Le struttstruttureureureure e i progetti Un aspetto significativo delle strutture è il loro assemblaggio modulare. Alla fine dei Mondiali, le calotte superiori degli impianti saranno smontate e saranno donate alla FIFA per destinarle alla costruzione di infrastrutture calcistiche nei Paesi in via di sviluppo, mentre in Qatar resteranno degli stadi più ridotti, adeguati alle reali esigenze calcistiche della regione. Tra le proposte di progetto per i 12 stadi da costruire ed ampliare è presente quella dell’archistar araba, Zaha HadHadidididid , che con lo studio Zaha Hadid Architects in collaborazione con AECOM , fornitore globale di servizi di assistenza tecnica e di gestione professionale, hanno ideato il nuovo Al Wakrah Stadium a sud della capitale Doha. Il nome dello stadio è stato stabilito in onore di una delle 10 municipalità in cui sorgerà la struttura stessa. Al Wakrah è stato a lungo porto commerciale al servizio della capitale Doha, da cui dista una quindicina di chilometri. Il design concepito da Jim Heverin , l'architetto dello studio Zaha Hadid Architects, è ispirato alla dhow, la tradizionale barca a vela araba con una o più vele triangolari utilizzata per la pesca che ancora adesso si può trovare ormeggiata nel porto della città. La copertura dello stadio avrà forma curvilinea, destinata a proteggere sia i 3 giocatori che gli spettatori dal sole del deserto intenso, costituita da costole di legname e munito di impianti a fonti energetiche sostenibili. Per rispondere alle temperature costantemente calde del territorio è stata pensata l’installazione di sistemi di raffreddamento in tutto lo stadio, con requisiti di climatizzazione controllata per la produzione di energia da fonti rinnovabili quale quella del sole. Avrà una capacità di 40.000 posti a sedere che potranno essere ridotti a 20.000 grazie alle ultime file di gradinate modulabili. L'ingresso principale dello stadio si affaccerà su una bellissima piazza che creerà il senso di un unico grande parco. L’impianto sarà immerso in un parco culturale con architetture della tradizione islamica, edifici storici, moschee distintive e siti archeologici che appartengono ad una delle più antiche zone abitate del Qatar, oltre ad una piscina a tema, una spa, attrezzature sportive e un centro commerciale. Questo sarà motivo di successo per l’affluenza dello stadio come ha rilevato il Comitato Supremo del Qatar. Hassan Al Thawadi, Segretario Generale della Commissione suprema per Qatar 2022, ha dichiarato: “ Il design unico rispecchia la cultura in cui il nostro paese crede e la reinterpreta in chiave contemporanea, ispirandosi ai materiali e alla forma del tradizionale dhow . Per il medesimo lotto è stata presentata anche un’altra proposta per un nuovo complesso sportivo, si tratta del progetto dello studio tedesco AS&P , Albert Speer and Partner GmbH. Per l’impianto del Al Wakrah Stadium è stato pensato un complesso di 45.000 posti, che sorgerà nel sud-est del Qatar, posizionato nell’ampio spazio all’aperto. Il complesso sportivo è stato concepito per rappresentare visivamente un oasi, che abbraccia il patrimonio culturale della città ospitante. 4 Sono tre gli stadi che saranno realizzati, a nuovo, dallo studio AS&P . Oltre il progetto per Al Wakrah Stadium gli altri progetti presentati sono: - Al Shamal Stadium , che dovrà sorgere nel nord del Qatar in particolare nella municipalità di Madinat ash Shamal ed avere una capacità di ospitare 45.120 posti. La forma concava deriva dalle tradizionali "dhow", le imbarcazioni da pesca locali. - Al Khor Stadium , uno stadio di 45.330 posti, situato nel nord est del Qatar, progettato con la forma di una splendida conchiglia asimmetrica. Alcuni spettatori potranno vedere il Golfo dal loro posto mentre i giocatori potranno beneficiare di una copertura flessibile che assicurerà l’ombra sul terreno di gioco. In aggiunta a queste strutture, lo studio tedesco AS&P, con sede a Francoforte, ha proposto l’ampliamento di due stadi: - Al Rayyan Stadium ,,, che verrà ubicato a 20 chilometri a nord-ovest di Doha, la cui attuale capacità, grazie alla giustapposizione di una tribuna superiore, dovrebbe raddoppiare fino a ospitare 44.740 spettatori. Lo stadio sarà avvolto da una speciale membrana che servirà da schermo gigante per la proiezione di aggiornamenti flash e informazioni sulla partita. - Al Gharafa Stadium , che sarà costruito a Doha. Anch’esso esibirà una nuova tribuna superiore che raddoppierà la sua attuale capacità fino a 44.740 spettatori. La facciata sarà costituita dall’intreccio dei colori di tutti i paesi che si qualificheranno per la 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup , simboleggiando l'amicizia, la tolleranza e il rispetto reciproci fra la FIFA World Cup e il Qatar. Con lo scopo di ridimensionare le esigenze del Qatar Stars League la maggior parte degli stadi è stata pensata con un modulo costruttivo nella fascia superiore, che possa essere smontato dopo la Coppa del Mondo, e mantenere comunque l’assetto di uno stadio. 5 Molte sono le critiche che fanno riferimento al grande limite climatico dell’ambiente desertico del Qatar. Per far fronte alle estreme condizioni climatiche, tutti gli stadi avranno impianti di raffreddamento a emissioni zero grazie all’utilizzo di tecnologie solari per garantire che la temperatura non superi mai i 27°C e assicurando sempre ottimali condizioni di gioco e un ambiente confortevole per i tifosi.

According to a forecaster, weather condi- tions here are largely dependent on wind direction. If the wind blows from the south- ern regions, the mercury rises two to three degrees Celsius, as is happening now. The wind today is blowing from the southeast. However, when the wind changes direction and is north-westerly, it brings along chill and the temperature drops, said the forecaster. “The winter isn’t over yet.” The maximum temperature these days is between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius, depend- ing on the area in the country, while the minimum ranges between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius. In Doha, the maximum today is fore- cast at 27 degrees, and the minimum at 17 degrees. Abu Samra, located near Qatar’s border with Saudi Arabia, and which recently wit- nessed the coldest days and nights during the last chilly spell, will have a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a low of 13 degrees today, the forecast said. Al Khor in the north, on the other hand, is expected to have day temperatures run- ning up to 26 degrees Celsius today, while at night the mercury will drop to 14 degrees. However, the sustainability of these large-scale transformations is questioned. This thesis aims to investigate the adaptability of stadium precincts post-Qatar 2022 World Cup based on selected case studies from Al Rayyan municipality. The challenges of using large facilities such as iconic stadiums are worth investigating. The thesis aims to find answers to the following questions: To what extent is Qatar 2022 World Cup stadiums is adaptive to its precincts? What impacts the adaptability of Qatar 2022 World Cup stadiums? And How an adaptive strategy through public-private partnership can take place for Post 2022 World Cup? A selection of case studies from Qatar includes Khalifa International Stadium, Qatar Foundation and Al Rayyan Stadiums are examined to answer the research questions. The thesis is based on qualitative case study research with three data collection and analysis tools. The tools used are site assessment (observations), expert interviews, and secondary data that include feedback from Al Rayyan residents toward Al Rayyan stadiums and precincts.
