Foreword

This Special Volume of Ecologica Montenegrina includes collection of the papers presented at the 7th International Symposium of Ecologists of Montenegro (ISEM7) that has been held in Sutomore, Montenegro from October 4-7, 2017. ISEM7 is organized by Institute for Biodiversity and Ecology at University of Montenegro. International Symposium of Ecologists is, now for a period of 15 years, a leading bi-annual platform for interactions between the researchers from South Eastern Europe who are dealing with the subjects of fundamental and . The special volume is dedicated to advances in ecological research of the Black Sea region. These articles highlight the achievements of many research groups from Russia, working on the Black Sea region and provide comprehensive reviews of several interesting topics. We would like to thank all authors for their valuable articles presented in this Special Volume, as well to express our gratitude to all colleagues that have been engaged in reviewing the submitted manuscripts. We sincerely hope that this Special Volume will be of interest to the general readership of Ecologica Montenegrina.
