PAUL WILLIAMS President and Chairman of the Board February 2020 Dear ASCAP member, Enclosed is your first statement of 2020 for international performances of your music. On the reverse side of this letter, you will find an abridged list of the societies, performance periods and revenue classes reflected in this distribution. Visit www.ascap.com/distributioncomms for the full grid. 2020 got off to a phenomenal start for the ASCAP family. Last month, your fellow members took home Grammys in 36 categories, led by Billie Eilish and her collaborator/brother FINNEAS, who took home five Grammys apiece, including Record, Song and Album of the Year; EDM veterans The Chemical Brothers, Christian pop duo for KING & COUNTRY and composer-arranger Jacob Collier each took home two. Bernie Taupin won a Golden Globe for co-writing “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from Rocketman, and was nominated for an Oscar, alongside Cynthia Erivo (“Stand Up” from Harriet) and Diane Warren ("I'm Standing with You" from Breakthrough). Depeche Mode, Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, Notorious B.I.G. and T. Rex - all legends, all ASCAP members or global affiliates - were announced as this year’s inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Annie Lennox and The Isley Brothers were selected for the Songwriters Hall of Fame. We can all aspire to the level of success that these musical heroes have reached. Do you have what it takes to make your passion your career? If so, you owe it to yourself to attend the ASCAP Experience (formerly the ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO), happening this April 1-3 in downtown LA. We recently announced our first wave of panelists, including Amy Allen (Halsey's "Without Me"), Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place), Gnash ("Lights Down Low"), Sam Hollander (Panic! at the Disco's "High Hopes"), Brett James (Carrie Underwood’s "Jesus, Take the Wheel"), Poo Bear (Justin Bieber’s "Where Are Ü Now" & "Despacito [Remix]"), Priscilla Renea (Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It”) and Emily Warren (Dua Lipa’s "New Rules"). Come learn from these world-class music creators and so many more of the greatest minds in music, branding, wellness and beyond. Visit www.ascapexperience.com to register. We are inching ever closer to tax day, so make sure to download any ASCAP tax documents that you need to prepare your 2019 return. Log into Member Access (www.ascap.com/members), click “Earnings” in the navigation bar, and you will see a “Tax Forms” link if we have documents for you.
