  • Shakespeare on Film, Video & Stage
William Shakespeare on Film, Video and Stage Titles in bold red font with an asterisk (*) represent the crème de la crème – first choice titles in each category. These are the titles you’ll probably want to explore first. Titles in bold black font are the second- tier – outstanding films that are the next level of artistry and craftsmanship. Once you have experienced the top tier, these are where you should go next. They may not represent the highest achievement in each genre, but they are definitely a cut above the rest. Finally, the titles which are in a regular black font constitute the rest of the films within the genre. I would be the first to admit that some of these may actually be worthy of being “ranked” more highly, but it is a ridiculously subjective matter. • A Global Initiative to Stop Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Dawn Ireland, President
Nonprofit Impact Report 2020 A global initiative to stop Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Dawn Ireland, President A Note From Dawn Ireland, President Dear CDH International Members and Supporters, We spent our first 24 years blazing the path for CDH charities and creating a global community for the benefit of our kids. And then came Covid and things could’ve grinded to screeching halt. Many charities folded in 2020… CDH International did not. We held our 2020 CDH Telethon as our President, Dawn Ireland, herself was battling Covid while on camera for 12 hours. This fall, Tracy Meats, head of our Support Department, had a heart attack and still continued to try to work just a week later. Our big 25th Anniversary CDH Conference in Toronto was cancelled. Research conferences held virtually. Volunteers and Board Members quit because they couldn’t handle the pressures of 2020 and charity work too. Donations fell to 50% of the previous year but with the help of our amazing, Fundraising Team, lead by Nicolle Colvin, fundraisers increased by 74% during a global pandemic! We made it. And we grew. In July, CDH International became a registered research non-profit organization in the UK after 25 years of volunteers and support. In December, CDH International became a registered non-profit organization in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Netherlands and Switzerland. CDH International was first envisioned sitting beside a baby boy’s hospital bed in 1993. It became a reality in the form of CHERUBS in 1995. Now, we are the world’s oldest, largest and leader in the fight against Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.

You are here: Home \ Arts \ MY Outlander Written by Maureen Younger ARTS MY Outlander Maureen Younger talks episode 12, death and punching corpses. Posted on 27/06/2016 Far from bonnie: Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) prepare for further battles. Photos: Sony Pictures Television/Starz. To quote Napoleon Bonaparte: “An army marches on its stomach”, a sentiment that would not have been lost on the Highlander army that we are greeted with at the start of this week’s episode: dispirited after five months of retreat, bedraggled and starving, and burdened with a leader in Prince Charles (Andrew Gower) who believes, as God’s chosen representative on earth, he will win come what may. As military tactics go, it’s not ideal. No wonder Claire (Caitriona Balfe), Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) are in despair; for despite all their best efforts, it is looking as if Culloden will soon be upon them. As a born fighter, however, Jamie is not ready to give up just yet. To be honest, Claire and Jamie could have easily solved the problem of Culloden by assassinating John O’Sullivan whose insane idea it was for the Highlanders to fight on Culloden Moor in the first place. Though to be fair, that would have made for a much shorter novel/TV series. O’Sullivan couldn’t have chosen worse ground for the Highlanders to fight upon if he’d been in the secret employ of the British. Needless to say, as men who know a thing or two about fighting, both Jamie and Lord George Murray (Julian Wadham) are against the idea.

We really wanted to meet him. COSTA BOTES (co-director, Forgotten Silver): Peter started shooting films when he was eight. A year after we met, he showed me a Bond parody called Coldfinger that he’d made when he was 15 or 16. He’d copied the editing of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. And he played James Bond himself. I thought, “This is uncanny — he actually looks like Sean Connery.” There were no Bond girls in it. I don’t think girls went near him at that point! TAYLOR: It turned out that his sci-fi movie was called Bad Taste. He was baking foam latex in his mum’s oven. His parents were very gracious people. Unfazeable. CAMERON CHITTOCK (Third Class Alien, Bad Taste): The film took four years. Peter was the camera guy, he did the costumes, he was an actor, he did the effects.
