MEYER AND THE UF STUDENT BODY

Just as he did at Bowling Green and Utah, Coach Meyer has made it a priority to establish a relationship between his team and the general student body on campus.

"Part of what makes so exciting is the youth and energy that can be drawn from campus life. I want our players to realize that is part of the collegiate experience - to be a part of the student body here at the University of Florida."

To that end, Coach Meyer has sent invitations to every campus organization leader on campus inviting them to meet individually with him. Fraternities, sororities and student groups will have a chance to get to know Coach Meyer much the same way potential recruits do - in a personal setting.

"I want the opportunity to listen to them. To hear them tell their story of how they became Gators. I want them to get to know our coaching staff and our families and value their input in the program."

Coach Meyer doesn't expect to do this alone.

"For us to achieve the goal of our student body having complete ownership of our team, our players must respect the fact they are part of the student body. It is important to emphasize that there is not a divide between student-athletes and students, we must all work together."

Coach Meyer has already met with the UF Director of Bands and has asked for a copy of the school .

Another goal for Coach Meyer is to teach everyone on campus the fight song and have the players sing it after every home victory at The Swamp. ORANGE AND BLUE SUPERLATIVES (Since 1996)
