Volleyball The Mavericks went 25-9 , their most wins since 2006. Briana Sharratt became the first UTA player in 25 years to earn All-American honors.

Men’s Basketball Coach Scott Cross won his 150th career game. Lonnie McClanahan was named to the NABC District 24 second team and second-team All-Sun Belt.

Women’s Basketball Won 17 games, 13 more than the previous year to set a school record for the biggest victory increase in one season and the most in the NCAA last year. Rebekah VanDijk was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and FullCourt.com Freshman All- American. 5 Softball Allan Saxe Field was rededicated and a new clubhouse opened. Team records were set in batting average (.316), runs 68 (338), RBI (316), walks (226) and hits Athletes earned (456). Golf Stuart Deane was hired as Men’s and 38 Women’s Golf coach. Women’s Golf Graduating announced for 2017-18. Men’s Golf Student-Athletes finished runner-up at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. Clay Gould Ballpark Clay Gould Ballpark has been the home of record breakers, major leaguers and champions. The 1,600-seat facility originally opened in 1974 and has undergone several upgrades to keep the complex among the best in college baseball.

In 2015, the Mavericks opened a state-of- the-art clubhouse that gives UTA a new on-site home. The 6,000 sq. ft. facility includes a players clubhouse, an equipment and laundry room, a sports medicine training room and coaches’ Clay Gould Ballpark offices.

Allan Saxe Field The 622-seat facility was rebuilt from the ground up after the completion of the 2014 season. The Mavericks opened the new Allan Saxe Field on Feb. 12, 2015 in the Maverick Invitational against Incarnate Word. UTA cut the ribbon on the clubhouse with a ceremony held on March 21, 2015 with alumni, Maverick Club members and donors taking part in the festivities.

Complementing the new grandstands, a brand new field was laid complete with turf making up the inside foul lines and natural grass comprising the outfield. The press box now features comfortable seating for up to 15 with full University Allan Saxe Field internet access. UTA Completes Second Season in Sun Belt CONFERENCE

Sun Belt Conference championships in Women’s Cross UTA’s total is based on competing in 14 of the 18 sports Country plus Men’s Outdoor Track & Field led UTA to a sponsored by the Sun Belt. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee meets monthly to discuss both campus, departmental, and national issues of concern to student-athletes. The chair of the SAAC is a student-athlete and the committee consists of one to three appointed student-athletes from each team as well as the student-athlete representative from the President’s Advisory Council. The SAAC also includes athletic department staff as advisors and resources.

The purpose of the SAAC is to provide student-athletes the opportunity to communicate more effectively with UTA athletic administration, coaches, and staff. It enables student-athletes to provide recommendations for the improvement of academic, athletic and social experiences. The committee encourages unity, common purpose and camaraderie between teams and among all student-athletes.

SAAC took part in 21 community service events during 2014-15.
