Er hat bereits einen Sinn für Schema und Terminologie. Es sieht so aus, als wäre diese Position ideal für ihn. Wir können aggressiv sein und seine Geschwindigkeit nutzen”, so Carroll; und weiter: Er zeigt bereits Sinn für das Passspiel und hatte ein paar wirklich gute Aktionen in Zone- und Man- Coverage. Das sind Dinge die wir mitnehmen. Zu Griffin’s Qualitäten in den Special Teams konnte Carroll noch nichts sagen, zeigte sich aber in freudiger Erwartung. Griffin wurde von den Seattle Seahawks an 141. Stelle (5. Runde) im Draft gewählt. Zuvor hatte Griffin, neben seiner im Kindesalter amputierten Hand, vor allem durch eine sehr gute Performance beim Combine auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. In Seattle spielt er ab dieser Saison zusammen mit seinem Zwillingsbruder Shaquill.
