I'm not your toy anymoreBy Kindle CustomerThis series just keeps getting better and better, in her journey to save mason the clown princess of chaos and crime finally faces her past and kicks his alabaster hiney. She also learns what love, friendship really is and her own self truly is. Full of action and Harley's trademark jokes and fun as well as a side of syborg you wished you never seen. In this volume you get Harley, posion ivy, gang of Harley's, joker, batman, the apartment crew, syborg and the return of a villain once thought dead. 5 down sadly only one volume left in this series hopefully Harley's reboot keeps true.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Harley is growing up!By Leria DravenThis Harley was a bit more serious, but I was glad to see it. We got to see her actually stand up for herself, face her demons, and realize there is more to herself than what someone thinks of her and what they want her to be. Our little Harley is growing up and it's great to see that type of character development and progress throughout the series!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Joker HarleyBy RumyluvgrlGreat value for the money and you'll need to get the first 4 volumes too! I love these 'cause if you missed a comic or the comic is out of your price range, these volumes will do the trick. And it's Harley. Need I say more? Mason Macabre is more than just Harley Quinnrsquo;s neighbor in her new Coney Island digsmdash;he just might be the man of her dreams. But to save his life, shersquo;ll have to face the clown of her nightmares! With Harley and her gang of merry maidens battling to keep innocents out of the crossfire of her enemiesrsquo; latest vendetta, Masonrsquo;s been whisked away to the one place our hellacious heroine never wanted to set foot in again: Arkham Asylum. Inside its horrific halls, Masonrsquo;s at the tender mercies of none other than the Jokermdash;and Harley and the Clown Prince of Crime have had the mother of all bad break-ups. Will she and the madman who helped make her what she is kiss and make up long enough for her new beau to escape with his life? Or this time, will the joke be on Harley Quinn for good? Itrsquo;s the reunion yoursquo;ve been waiting for! Courtesy of acclaimed creative team Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, HARLEY QUINN VOL. 5: THE JOKERrsquo;S LAST LAUGH proves that when it comes to true love, Harleyrsquo;s not joking around! Collects issue #22-25 of the ongoing series and the special issue, HARLEY QUINN: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. "The strongest aspect of this issue is Conner's character work. He has created and co-created numerous series and characters, including The New West, THE MONOLITH, 21 DOWN, THE RESISTANCE, Gatecrasher, Beautiful Killer, Back to Brooklyn, The Tattered Man and Painkiller Jane. Currently he is co-writing DC's ALL-STAR WESTERN and BATWING with Justin Gray, as well as HARLEY QUINN with Amanda Conner. Amanda Conner started out in comics after working as an illustrator for New York ad agencies. However, loving comic books and cartooning the most, Amanda found work at Archie, Marvel and Claypool Comics early in her career. She's probably best known for her work on Vampirella for Harris Comics, as well as Painkiller Jane, CODENAME KNOCKOUT, BIRDS OF PREY, and the creator-owned books Gatecrasher and The Pro (with Jimmy Palmiotti and Garth Ennis). The purpose of this research is to adapt the approaches used by prominent and influential writers and artists in the American superhero/action comic-book field to create an engaging Australian hero comic book. Further, the aim of this thesis is to bridge the gap between the lack of academic writing on the professional practice of the Australian comic industry. In order to achieve this, I explored and learned the methods these prominent and professional US writers and artists use. Compared to the American industry, the creating of comic books in Australia has rarely been documented, particularly in a formal capacity or from a contemporary perspective. The process I used was to navigate through the research and studio practice from the perspective of a solo artist with an interest to learn, and to develop into an artist with a firmer understanding of not only the medium being engaged, but the context in which the medium is being created.

  • Emmanuelle Vaugier to Play Painkiller Jane Comicscontinuum.Com
Emmanuelle Vaugier to Play Painkiller Jane Comicscontinuum.com Emmanuelle Vaugier, who was a regular guest star in the second and third seasons of The WB's Smallville, has been cast to star in Sci Fi's Painkiller Jane television movie. Painkiller Jane is based on the Event Comics character created by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti. Vaugier, a native of Vancouver British, Columbia, played Dr. Helen Bryce in nine episodes of Smallville. Her character eventually married and then deceived Lex Luthor. "I am really excited that Emmanuelle Vaugier was picked to play Painkiller Jane," Palmiotti told The Continuum. "She has the right amount of dangerous beauty that the character needs and is a wonderful actress as well. We scored big time with her and I cannot wait to see what she can do with the property. This is the perfect role for an actress on the rise like Emmanuelle." Vaugier's other television credits include North Shore, One Tree Hill and Charmed. NBC Universal TV Studios will produce the Painkiller Jane pilot which marks Sci Fi's first comicbook adaptation in association with MGM TV. The film is expected to begin production in Vancouver on Jan. 19. Palmiotti said the movie should appeal to fans of the comic. "The script is loyal to the character of Jane and the feel of her, but the situation in which she gets her powers is a tiny bit different," he said. "When I finished reading the script, I was very pleased with the job the writers on the project had done, and relieved that the heart and soul of the original character Joe Quesada and I created was still all there.

  • Harley Quinn: the Jokers Last Laugh Volume 5 Free
FREE HARLEY QUINN: THE JOKERS LAST LAUGH VOLUME 5 PDF Amanda Conner,Jimmy Palmiotti | 144 pages | 31 Jan 2017 | DC Comics | 9781401271992 | English | United States Joker's Last Laugh Reading Order When Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti launched her solo series as part of The New 52 back inthey took her in bold new directions, effectively making her the deserving star of the show. Another creator who has been there since this run began is that of Chad Hardin, who thankfully returns to illustrate much of this particular volume. He captures the varying moments of levity, mayhem and tenderness as good as ever. I encourage you to savor every nuance and to really pay attention to each panel; you may discover something new upon subsequent re-reads. The Gang of Harleys, who still had a unified color scheme at the time, are ever ready to help. Expect to find several laugh out loud moments in the midst of all the chaos. The situation with Zena quickly resolves itself in a much unexpected — and hilarious — manner. Most unfortunate for Harley, however, Mason soon finds himself transferred to Arkham Asylum. After unsuccessfully trying to go the diplomatic route, Harley must break into her former place of work to spring him — alone. Handled with much care by Conner and Palmiotti, the scene plays out perfectly with Harley effectively walking away from Joker after kicking his ass. Needless to say, this creative team has yet to let me down. Harley Quinn: The Jokers Last Laugh Volume 5 also get a rare treat as Conner provides interior art for much of this chapter.
